Cobra Spring-Loaded Blade And Bomb Gauntlet - 25/02/2012 Bomb Computer Paint Up Started And Video Of

Update time!

I had a chance to work on these, so I thought that it is time to get one of them complete. I this case I decided to drum on with the bomb computer gauntlet. I have now added the inside panels including the count down timer. The used a vinyl of the bomb computer (my thanks to Quakevirus on the stella vinyl (y) ) and stuck that over a piece of 4 mm plexiglass. I also recieved my EL wire to for use as a backing light for the computer. I know the standard colour for this is red but I though, as its a custom pred and I am going with the rusty look, I figured that orange would look goooood! lol This was then glued to the black on the panel and then other details were then added. I also added 2 red LED's to the lid.

Once all the inside componenets were removed I then spray the whole gauntlet with a grey primer and then base coated it with an Aluminium gloss.

I stiil got add all the other paint layers to create the rusty effect that I am after, 2 down 6 to go lol

Thanks for looking guys and gals and let me know what you think.

Update time again lol

Had a little time to crack on with my blade gauntlet build. After tweeking with the blade system (which took forever) to get optimum release and lock back, I have now built the outside of the gauntlet, primed and base coated it. This is the build result....

I have only attached one blade for now as a reference. This will later be taken off so I can paint it and the gauntlet etc.

Thanks for the great comments guys

Update on the bomb gauntlet.

I have added about 4 layers of the paint up and have now started to get the 'rusty' look. I still have to spray various dark and light green highlights go give it that metal look but this is what I have got so far.

I have also included a video of the count down timer. I have yet to add the details/ extras to the count downer timer facia - the stuff I was going to use has been misplaced lol

Great paint up; weathering is spot on!

Also I like the idea of the small box for the count down top, easy to add the electronics to it :)

That's pretty sick HH!! Watching the progression is awesome. Did you get the pred symbols from templates? It looks like some sort of photo film...

Can't believe I missed the progress on this build! Excellent work on the gauntlets Jason! Glad the display decal worked out for you bud. (y)

Awesome dude, nice finishing touches!

Thanks guys, hoping to get a little more work done on this soon. Lifes events have postponed this for about a week or so, so I am slowly starting to get bits and bobs done again. Will update ASAP....
