certainly a possibility. I would think we will see more of her in the next season as it would be a shame not to since she is a popular and main character in this show. But since she walked off into the sunset to new adventures or to find herself she could always walk out of hiding to seek out the Skywalker new jedi order as a much older and wiser Jedi curious about the direction of the new order and to contribute to it with her wisdom. I'd be for that.

In the book Star Wars Visions, there's a wonderful painting of Ahsoka throwing down against Vader.

thaat's cool! I could see a story of her coming out of hiding after learning of the Jedi demise and not knowing Vader is actually Anakin... and during the fight she "senses something... a presence she hasn't felt since.... NNNOOOOOOooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!) :love

This morning's episode wasn't very suspenseful as I thought it would be. Bariss' betrayal was totally unexpected and I thought Tarkin might have been involved because he was defensive against Ahsoka. Maybe Ahsoka will be back in season 6? Or did the writers just want to get rid of her because she's not in ROTS?

I agree. it seemed really straight forward. the only surprise (although I sort of saw it coming) was

Ahsoka's walk out from the Jedi order even though she was redeemed and invited back. I thought 'good for her!' so I thought it was a good way to stick it to them or tell them off after all of that. :lol

The great thing about the CW is it is that there are so many other stories and conflict and no one character is always the focal point. I am sure Ashoka's story will continue and I would put money down that it will lead to Lux Bonteri and possibly her becoming a freedom fighter at his side.

Although I would not go as far as saying this was a set up of her future movie involvement (although I think the dare to dream TV series would be good place to continue her story) I think it set her up more for surviving the Jedi purge.

Nice knowing that the one character that could have made this series bearable is now gone. Does her absence officially make this series a sausage fest?

Will she come back at some point next season? Will she "come out of hiding" to help recreate the jedi order in the next movie? Or is she just gone? Those sre all rhetorical question, but I do wonder if they are just throwing her character away with maybe an occasional cameo or if there are bigger plans.

I think this ending was manufactured in case the series wasn't picked up by Disney. Assuming they finish production of Season 6 and find a way to distribute it, she'll be back.

The last few minutes of that episode were some of the best in the series. I actually put my hand over my mouth when Ahsoka made her decision at the end, and the final shot is as good as any final shot ever. I was genuinely moved.

I think this arc did a very good job showing the deterioration of the Jedi. It becomes clearer why bringing balance to the force meant starting with a clean slate. For us, the audience, we feel as shocked as Ashoka that the Jedi was so quick to condemn her. I lost a lot of respect for the council when they tried to use their lack of faith in her as "that's the mystery of the force" and tried to excuse it as her trial for knighthood. I did not want her to accept their offer because one, they don't deserved her and two, knowing the future of the Jedi, she needs to distance herself.

Cool season end and how out of nowhere are these jedi palace guards with yellow double end lightsabers
They need some way to explain no ashoka and this fits perfect and leaves room for her to come back and disney to use her somehow as kids will love her in the live action movies even if just a small part.
Barriss was a disappointment was no big surprise. The Ashoka leaving was the surprise for sure.

I was wondering if they were perhaps Jedi assigned to the duty for the proceedings but to remain anonymous and unbiased as guards they wore the masks. I can't imagine the Jedi allowing armed guards with Sabers to be in charge of holding a Jedi prisoner... they too would have to be Jedi I would think. will have to see if Dave Filoni's episode featurette interview reveals who they are....

That's pretty much it. Jedi taking turns being anonymous guards.

I really liked the episode, it was a really good ending to the season even though I wasn't all that surprised at Asohka walking off at the end of the episode. The nice thing about the ending is that it helps to explain why we don't see her in Eps II & III, she's already left the order and is doing whatever. It also leaves the possibility open of her having survived the great Jedi purge because she's probably been living off the grid in a manner of speaking.

One thing that had me really wondering was the part where Anakin fought Barris, where did that second lightsabre come from? I don't ever recall Anakin having, much less using a second lightsabre, not that I didn't think it was cool to see him duel wielding. They really deemed it in the way he was attacking Barris so viciously and forcefully, it seemed like a bit of an homage to the Luke vs. Vader duel in Jedi as well as subtly reminding the audience of Anakin's impending fall.

One thing that seems to have been largely overlooked in discussions here is, what is Palpatine's role/involvement in this all? I'm not sure if Barris' actions were all her own or not and if Palpy may have influenced her some but am I the only one that saw a hint of Order 66 in the way the clones acted? They were definitely seeing one and reporting another, even good 'ol Rex didn't seem to really be on Anakin and Asohka's sides.

On the subject of clones, anyone know the name of that clone commander in the green armor? That was a pretty wicked looking clone and I'd love to have either a figure/statuette of him or get some clone armor and make it up like his.

The second light saber that Anakin used was Bariss' jedi saber. He took it when he entered her room. As for Anakin using two sabers, he battles Dooku with 2 sabers in AOTC before Dooku took one of his arms.

I was a little bothered by how Rex reacted to the whole situation.

I loved the episode and most of the season.

I'm glad they haven't asked him, or that he's declined. Palpatine w/ McDiarmid is a character I'd rather have saved for the big screen. I was happy with Abercrombie because he was such a good voice match. I think
Tim Curry is an awesome acting talent, but from what I heard on the clip, his voice isn't doing it for me as Palpatine...

I get what you're saying, 'cept that the BIG Ian already voiced him (retroactively) for the CW kickoff story. That said, Abercrombie was quite wonderful, and will be missed. Curry, while one of those guys I love listening to in just about everything, was atrocious as Palps. He came across, to me at least, as trying to catch some shades of Ambecrombie, but without any attempt to relate it to McDiarmid's performance. On the other hand, if that's the best Palpatine he's got, perhaps Filoni should have gone with Witwer, who does a passable RotJ Emperor, and couldn't have been worse.
I will say that the casting of Curry does give me some confidence in there BEING as season 6. Otherwise, why bother casting a name? Why NOT just get Witwer to take the few lines in this episode, unless you need to line up a performer for more work than that?

It's weird, and a more than a little unhealthy that you base the value of a story on what is or is not hanging between the legs of its protagonist. Yes, it's a 'sausage fest', apart from Bo-Katan, any number a jedi, Ventress, Mother Talzin and the Nightsisters,...f8k, I mean just...f8k, dude.
