I agree. I think the design of Grievous was really cool, but the character really sucked. Would have had a much more emotional impact on Obi-Wan as well.

And since you're using a cripppled, cyborg warrior anyways for RotS.....yeah, Lucas missed badly with that one.

And about the Sorcerer's Apprentice comment, I actually started hear "Mitchika-Boo, Alacazoo-La, Bibbidy-Bobbity-Boo..." while she was yanking magical hankercheifs out of his head ("Hey, Rock! Nothing up my sleeve...!")

What's a little frustrating is that what they came up with for Mauls' return could have been painfully stupid, painfully obvious, and a clear cash-grab. What they did come up with really worked as a story but was executed in kind of a 'meh' way, and seemed to need to rush over development that was really needed for the payoff. Weird, but it's like I've seen that before somewhere....

At the finale screening that I went to a few weeks back, someone in the audience actually asked a question about Grievous not being featured. Dave Filoni (who if you don't know, is the supervising director of Clone Wars) basically answered that Grievous was never really supposed to be that tough of a villain. Keeping in mind that Palpatine ostensibly had the Clone Wars planned out, the Confederacy was always supposed to lose. Grievous was really a figurehead.

I don't buy that. Grievous was supposed to be tough because the half the point of the Clone Wars was to wear the Jedi down so they wouldn't be an obstacle. "Hey let's give this guy four lightsabers and not expect too much..." That wouldn't make sense. They wanted someone who could fight and beat Jedi, otherwise why would you bother?

And in the Clone Wars it shows him to be a Warrior of long experience. Originally fully 'human'.

But then, every time he fights something gets cut off. Usually an arm. And he ran from Obi-wan in their final battle.

As I interpreted Filoni's take on the subject, it's not so much that he was a complete patsy, but he's not a Jedi, and can't use the force. Count Dooku may have taught him a few things, but in the end, Obi quickly sliced off his extra arms, the clones came in and he ran. Obviously he wasn't totally incompetent, but I think Filoni's interpretation of the story makes sense: he wasn't a Sith, so therefore at the end of the day, he was really expendable.

I'm very curious what's going to happen with Ventress next. I've always liked her character like I've always liked all tragic villians. That's why I mentioned Obsession in my other post, at the end Kenobi says how she isn't truly evil but that she was never taught any other way. I hope they give her a similar ending - not turning to a Jedi, but throwing in the towel on both sides.

The Clone Wars feels more like horror episodes rather than a scifi/adventure/fantasy. Most of the episodes are just not Star Wars to me.

I just watched the last two episodes and have to say they're pretty weak for a cliff hanger/season finale, with the second to last being laughable and very childish. The "acting" was way over acted and the directing/writing seemed juvenile. Yes, I know it's a cartoon, but I didn't know it was trying to be a bad 80's saturday morning cartoon. After the greatness that was the second season of this series, I just think they really need to end it. It's getting passe.

Anyone else not really giving a carp if it comes back?

I wounder how much longer they can keep the Clone Wars going seeing as how we already know how short the war is. I still think having it only be 3 years is just plain silly.

But we don't know long the war has been going on in show terms though. For all we know what we've seen has only been 1 year in show time.
