CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

Well according to an interview with Lucas he has been planing on doing a 100 episodes regardless of ratings so this might be the last season. Then again it is one of the most popular shows on cartoon network. They could always do a few more seasons focusing on other units and Jedis.

I'm still hoping we get a whole Republic Commando episode. They apparently mentioned RC's being in one episode, but that could just be another Delta cameo.

On the Star Wars blog they have some stuff from a CW panel at Comic Con. Apparently the Mandalorians are going to move towards (or back to) what we all thought they were, a warrior culture. That kind of sucks if it's true because Karen Traviss bailed on writing SW and there was really no reason to do so.

In the begining i heard CloneWars should be just an fill-in to organize a real movie serie! Should play in the time beetween E3-E4. Anyone more infos about this? :confused

The TV series (with a working title of Star Wars: Underworld) is still shelved until the technology they want to use in the show becomes more affordable.

Last year, Lucas announced that 50 scripts had been completed.

They also say that the show is going to be like Deadwood in space. Rick McCallum said it will be complex, dark and adult, and called it the most "daring material we have ever done."

I have not heard anything about Clone Wars as a set up to the the TV Show. I guess if they wanted to, you could see some characters make an appearance that were from Clone Wars but from the details that have surfaced about hte show, it seems to be covering a different section of the Star Wars Galaxy. Even though the TV series takes place between Episode III and IV, I have not heard anything to indicate it attempts to tie those movie together. It might, but I have not heard such rumors.

I'm sure you've seen this:

Republic Commndo in Season 5, pretty exciting. Lets just hope its not too campy with the droid storyline. I can only hope we see more of the RCs.

Yes, it sounds like they're going to rewrite TCW history, which is good with me since DF's whole Mandalore Arc was atrocious. There is also rumor floating around that a new book will be coming out. We can only hope that LFL can entice Karen back. She wrote EU books that I could actually stomach.

Hello all

I am hoping you can help me out. My family has just discovered the clone wars and are working our way through them in hopes of getting to season 5 by the time season 5 is out on dvd.

Here is what I need help with. I am aware that Anakin, Obi Wan, Yoda, Cody, and Gree make it to the Order 66 in the movies and I know who is killed by Order 66. I know that the fate of Ahsoka is unknown.

My problem is I am watching it with my son and I want to know if I need to prep him for any of the main characters Jedi or not that are killed. For example if Rex dies in Season 4 I need to know.

Is there are list anywhere of the characters that die? I know when Kit Fisto's former padawan dies in Grevious's Lair I would have been able to better prep him if I had known type thing.

Thanks in advance.

I would hope so too. It kind of sounds like it's sort of a "you went against the family" mob thing where she's dead to them now. :lol Who knows now that different people are running the book editing. The dumb thing is that if they knew this is the direction they were going to go in, why they didn't just tell her then.

Rex doesnt die in season 4 ,but he does get a lot awesomer

I wouldn't mind it if LFL edited one of the clones at the temple to look like Rex next fall when they release ROTS 3D.

I have a feeling that he's going to go AWOL. They've foreshadowed it a couple times. That would also be a cool nod to the RC books and Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader which had clones leave or in the Vader novel fight back when Order 66 was issued.

hmm......so no more premiere on Friday night and rerun on Saturday morning. That kinda sucks since my Friday nights are boring otherwise :/

I agree. Now instead of a prime time animated show that appealed to both kids and adults, it now appears to be relegated to being a Saturday morning kids show.

Well, obviously I signed an NDA, so I can't give away any plot details. But I really enjoyed the first two episodes and I'm excited about the direction they're going. Dave Filoni described it as "more sophisticated" last night and I'm definitely inclined to agree.
