CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

Zillo Beast is cool, a real homage to Godzilla....even the music was similar at the end of the second part (and same music when he was climbing as in King Kong). And they used the same kind of weapons on Zillo as the Japanese used on Godzilla (the beams). Although there was some King Kong homage there as well.

It almost seems like those two episodes were directed by someone else....they were more serious and substantial and had better definitive moments as a real movie rather than cartoony.

yeah I agree. Kinda had a good underlining story about him and him hearing what was said. I'd like to see a statue of him out..

It would have been way cooler with BOC singing "Zillo, Zillo, Zillo, Zillo!" :lol

I kept waiting for some alien to run with the camera pointing and screaming "Zillo beast, Zillo beast".

I wasn't crazy about the obvious Godzilla/Hong Kong storyline... But, it's a kids show, so many of them probably haven't seen Godzilla.

My kids came up with an idea that I think they should have gone with - that the beast was telepathic and knew Palpatine was the evil one trying to kill him and that's why it kept going after him specifically. I thought they were right, but the show never did anything with all those hints.

I'm looking forward to seeing Boba back. He certainly has a chip on his shoulder... understandably, of course.

I liked this episode, but I'm wondering how Boba holds onto Slave I with Bossk (I assume) and Aurra Sing on board. They could just say "Shove it kid, it's ours now." Also they are doing Star Trek stuff now in that on one episode someone has a power, but in another they don't. What happened to Mace or Anakin's Jedi danger sense? Surely Boba would have been projecting hate towards Mace like crazy.

Danakin, thanks for the link. I don't have sound on my laptop, but I'll be sure to listen to it later.

I really liked the episode. They kept Boba right on the line of being bad, but not being totally evil... and without the annoying Anakin arrogance.

Sluis, I thought the EXACT same thing! I even said at one point after Mace escapes the explosion, can't they feel his disappointment at least? :p

Considering they have their very own version of the clone soldiers out there, I think Aura and Bossk are going to keep him around to use him. I think if he doesn't listen to them, they'll cut him loose, but his looks have got to be a nice advantage for them. And with the way he was shooting, he'll at some point sooner than they expect, turn on them and take the ship. He knows how to fly it already.

I have to say, it's really nice having a dramatic show that my kids and I enjoy equally. :) They're doing a great job with this series.

The Zillo wasn't telepathic, it was intelligent - the main scientist even says she suspects it was sentient. The beast's motivation was clear so there was no need to state it any more plainly.

Another thing that was weird, Boba stuns the clonetrooper, but that whole section seems to explode. What was the point?

Also as far as Slave I, Boba probably has all the command codes or the equivalent so he could probably lock anyone else out of the ship.

Anyone ever notice that Wat Tambor is a collector of Raiders of the Lost Ark props?

Look! The Ark! :lol

PS if someone already spotted this and posted it then oh well...:unsure

Does anyone know where I can get Season One on DVD? Is there a set and is there a Season Two DVD set out yet? I don't really keep up with Star Wars or the 501st anymore, but I do like this series enough to buy both seasons.

what happened to the season 3 discussion? i haven't finished season 3 so i'm not looking at the season 4 thread... was there no discussion thread for it? :(

We got two CW threads going, so I'm just going to go with this one. Really liked the fourth episode of season four. Was the bad Gungan voiced by the same guy who did the flamboyant Hutt? For some reason, Jar Jar doesn't annoy me at all in the cartoon. In that context, he works. And the bongo is one of my fave PT designs, so that was cool to see again. Dooku, good. Greivous, good. I'm happy.

Odd how many underwater shows we had in a row though, huh?

MODS: I finally found where the season 3 convo went. Any chance of having these merged so all the weekly CW discussion is in one thread? http://www.therpf.com/f47/clone-wars-starts-tonight-dont-forget-96141/
