CLONE WARS weekly discussion thread

Just watched the new one, liked it better than last week. Still, I really hate when characters are stupid for the sake of plot, and all three of them were profoundly so.

I like the ship a lot. Just a minor nitpick: if it was cobbled together the way she described, I'd have detailed the model with mismatched colors on the hull plating, different upholstery or even different designs among the cockpit chairs, etc.

Rafa's feathered coat rings a bell but I can't place it. Remember how Governor Pryce in Rebels looked just like Irena Spalko in Indy 4? Rafa is hitting similar buttons with me but I can't put my finger on it.

They've done a good job of utilizing improvements (and affordability) of new CG technology since S6 while still maintaining the same style. One example: previously, backlit details like droid eyes and push buttons were just painted to look lit. Now, it seems they actually have virtual lights back there.

It's also nice to get back to this style after Rebels, which I never 100% liked in the design department. I got a little tired of all the background lines looking like grease pencil.

Gotta say, that episode was 100% a waste. I've been enjoying these Ahsoka episodes mostly because, well, Ahsoka, but this episode did literally nothing to move the plot forward.

I've been trying to remember what a Doctor Who writer(?) called that in the commentary for War Games, where much of an episode did the same thing: imprisonment, escape, imprisonment....no progression.

I found it interesting that in Ahsoka's admonishments to Rafa about where her decisions have brought them, there is no mention of all the Pyke lives that they've had to take because of all this! Crush a guy with an elevator, no big whoop.

kind of disappointed where this is going... i thought finishing the series off they would have gone a little bit different route.. like others have posted, last episode was such a waste..

i would figure with only limited time frame they would make every second count..

i have a feeling the only breath taking episode will be the very last one

Yeah this was a good close to this mini-arc.
Notice the sound-alike (but not TOO alike!) music when they were stealing spice, from Last Crusade's "No Ticket"?

They Pykes are still in trouble with Maul, right? Because they're still a spice shipment short.

Those one-man Pyke fighters: do I see Kenner Mini-Rigs in those designs?

My son and I have taken these these past weeks to rewatch Clone Wars in Chronological Order. Its's really the first time that we have seen them since the original airing.

I really enjoyed the story. I did not find it boring or a filler in any way. I am a big Ahsoka fan so I felt like this episode was a great window into who she was and who she is becoming. Not to mention the events lead to the Mandalorians recruiting Ahsoka for the next arc.

We started watching TCW a few weeks ago and mynsonbis getting reeeeally into this. I just hope that he will later on rediscover the OT, I really guess that its an age thing.
