Damn that is looking fine. Don't get me wrong, I like 3D printing and CNC... but there's just something about seeing a part scratch built so well that it doesn't need to be done in china or what have you. This is how they would have built the originals.

Did you end up finding the right seatbelt webbing and eyelets?

This board is cool, it has some of the same quirks as mine. XD

Hi Spencer! Sorry I missed your post.

I absolutely agree. I ended up finding a suitable seatbelt webbing for my last hero (standard white can be bought off of amazon). It seems like they used a few different kinds for the film, and sometimes none at all. The eyelets I have faked with washers and black plastic.

I finished priming, sanding, priming, and more sanding, and more priming the resin pieces... I am going to start making pieces now in .40 plastic vaccu-formed!

Oh... and a little teaser for a EXTREMELY accurate hero. :) I have an entire new method to make the lenticular (4 step process). The color is so damn accurate after a million tests (seriously... I know more about the color pink than any man should know... LOL). It looks lavender/purple in the shade, bright light pink in the sunlight, medium pink under fluorescent lighting, and salmon pink in incandescent lighting.... it matches all the photos of the props! Something I have never seen before in any replica. This isn't the clear lenticular simply stuck to pink vinyl... it looks like the real deal. Sorry to toot my own horn... just excited. :)

Update - Just made the second cast. Now time to prime and sand it smooth. I painted the battery box in the correct purple color. Let me know what you think! I'm really happy with these scratch made parts. Time to paint these bad boys!

Looks Great :D

I saw this knocking around on Facebook the other day. If you pledge $299 they'll send you a 'white box developer kit' which contains two of their hover engines so in reality, this year or maybe next when they release it all you could have a fully functioning hoverboard :)
