I have an XXXX Vader helmet that has some smudges and prints on the dome. ANybody know the best way to clean it? Thanks,

John

if its ANH version i wouldnt worry about it, then its screen accurate. :p

Seriously though. If its clear coated, use a lint free cloth, some automotive spray on polish ad a little bit of elbow grease. Mothers liquid polish is good too, but that is alittle more work. Make sure the cloth is lint and dust free. One pice of dirt or sand will just wreak havok.

If its just a few finger prints, use a cotton t-shirt and very careefully just rub each print out. Thats a fast and effective trick.

By automotive spray do you mean something like Armor All? Thanks for the tips.

Nope, go to Wal-Mart or your local autopart store. And you will find a variety of differnt spray on polishes. :) I myself would try to buff themout with a cotton cloth first before resorting to any type of wax. Its just more work when you buff and wax.

I was wondering about Nu-Finish. What about using the swirl and scratch remover first, then using the Nu-Finish? I have a black car and I use Macguires cream polish, then Macguires cream wax and I get a mirror finish.

Turtlewax.

i've turtled up my chest armor and the results have been fantastic. i'm sure that it'd do wonders for the dome as well.

Re: Cleaning Vader's dome

I command you to life, thread! :lol

I am thinking about using Turtle Wax on my new ROTS dome but want to be SUPER careful not to damage it. I know its covered in Black enamel, not sure whether its a clear coat or not.

Anyone use Turtle Black Box? I am after GENTLY addressing some micro swirls and a few hard to notice scratches. Thanks!

cleaning Vader's dome. hehehe ehehhehe hehehehehehehe

Re: Cleaning Vader's dome

I would just clean it with water and a soft cloth. Wouldn't want any buildup of anything on it.

Re: Cleaning Vader's dome

Thanks. I am trying to figure out a way to get rid of a tiny 3mm scratch that is bothering the perfectionist in me. Its like smaller than a booger, but go figure it would keep me up all night. The helmet is sooooo nice though, that's part of the reason I want it to shine...no, even better, glow...:lol

Re: Cleaning Vader's dome

Oh... I think you should have started your own thread, as your issue may not be similar to OPs.

Anyway... show a picture of the damage, so people can get a better understanding of what kind of help/advice you need. :thumbsup
