CLEANING UP THE TOWN- Stay Puft vs. Kid Ghostbuster

Yeah, yeah, I know ... another "Hey, lookit my kid" thread ... Anyway, my son loves Ghostbusters and asked me to make a proton pack a few months back. We went down to the shop and glued a few spare junction boxes and other crap to a piece of board and whipped up a quickie pack.

Well, he has played the Hell out of it and wanted to be a Buster for Halloween, so I sewed him up a suit with handmade patches about 2 weeks back. Then he said "Dad, I need Ecto Goggles, too, don't you think?" So, yup, back to the shop, but this time we got a bit more detailed. Then we figured, what the Hell, you need a trap too, right?

Then my wife reminded me a few days before Halloween that I was mentioned that I should go as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man to go with it a few weeks ago. I was like "Really? I mean, we're really out of time and I can just go as Chewbacca again", but she insisted, so I had a little 11th hour craziness happening (in fact, at 4AM the night before, I ran out of time and had to skip the hands and the lettering on the cap for now).

Anyway, here's some pics (a few with Photoshop fun added):

That's awesome Duck! Though my favorite is that your son has a better GB costume than those two adults standing behind him in the fifth pic. ha!

I too am curious what you made Stay Puft from?

Thanks guys. As for the material, it's just standard 1" thick mattress foam rubber padding. $19.99 for a 4' x 6.6' sheet, used 3 sheets. Problem is that it's already starting to yellow subtly due to UV exposure. I'll try skinning it with felt, fleece or jet set later, or just try to quick coat it with some KILZ spray primer like the lazy b@*!*@ I am!

HA!!!

You look so squishy and marshmallow-y!!! Excellent work and choice in materials ( other than the yellowing thing...but hopefully that can be fixed! :D )

Freaking awesome man. A haunter I know did a Stay Puft Man... had to steal on the pics and send it to him.

Awesome job on it!
