Classic Monsters diorama, advice needed on how to build it as one piece.

I want to combine these individual dioramas into one large, possibly multi-level diorama. I will be using loose, 8", Universal Monsters figures from Sideshow. These, plus Mask of the Red Death:

I can't build it now, but am struggling with how to combine the dioramas to make a great display.

SWEEEEET!!! That's looking really good! Will you be molding it? I'd like to do something similar with the old Azrak Hamway monster figures someday! :)

Forgive me, but, I don't understand what you are asking?

Making a mold to make multiple copies in resin or plaster or something. It looks like a million bucks! I bet you could definately sell a few! :)

No, each "section" was made by a friend of mine (Joe) that runs Monsters On The Shelf. I would never re-cast them. He still sells them via EBAY. I would rather support him and buy more than recast and compete with him.

I'm going to try to conserve space and may do a two level diorama and connect it all somehow. Maybe a small, swamp like lagoon for the creature. I'm not sure what to do with the Mummy or the Metaluna Mutant, but then, I don't have to use every figure.

Ohhh! Ok, gotcha! I thought you'd sculpted them. Cool, whenever I can afford my Azrak Hamway monsters, I'll definately have to look him up! :):thumbsup

Thanks!

I apologize. I now realize I didn't word my post clearly. I'm not familiar with your Azrak Hamway monsters, so I'm going to do some research on them.

I can do simple stuff, like painting these bases, it's the building/putting them together in a way that looks cool, yet is stable, and maybe incorporate some kind of mood lighting.

The outside will have the cemeteries of course, Igor, Frankenstein's monster and maybe the Wolfman out there. I'm just looking for help with ideas on where the figures should go and so on....

Just to give you an idea about the size, this is a 12" Dracula in one of the displays. Not my figure or work. This is why I believe using the Sideshow 8" figures would work better.

I checked out your monsters and they are cool! They'll definitely work in these diorama bases.

The base pictured below hasn't arrived, but it will be incorporated (somehow) with the other pieces shown above. Again, not my work, but just to give you (or anyone) an additional idea.

Yeah, while they're not as highly detailed as the newer ones, they definately have a certain '70's charm to them. :) Hehe, these were really Holy Grails when I was a kid. :D

I'd really like to do a diorama of all these guys along with a custom figure of local Indiana horror host Sammy Terry!

SgtFang,
Pleasure to "meet" you. I imagine we are close to the same age. I was born in 1960. Figures, toys, models have sure come a long way since then. I remember watching all the classic monsters in black & white, but then, there was no choice back then and only 4 sometimes 5 channels. :)

Thanks for responding in this thread. I appreciate it. :thumbsup

I know it would ruin the value, but with a repaint job, your monsters would look great! However, the nostalgia would be lost.

WOW! The Frankie and Wolfman pics sure bring back memories. I had both of those and they went with me everywhere when I was little. Eventually they ended up in a bucket of forgotten toys in the basement. When my brother was about 16 he decide it would be fun to take their heads to my dad's grinder. :cry:cry

I'd love to have them back!
