I now have four out of the mould. This is the first one to be painted. Should I try cutting one up the back so it can be worn?. Now for some detailing!
Dag Nab it! I just cut the back off to try a fit and it's a tight fit!
So now I have to go one step further and take the top of the back off as well. The good news is that there are two screws at the top so I can literally screw it together.
And in answer to previous questions, I was thinking the £250 was for a finished article.
I reckon I could do a raw kit for £150. The head would come in two pieces, top and bottom. And then I'd have to gather all the nuts and bolts, 3d Print the breather nozzles, lazer cut the ident tag and the air intakes.... Sounds fun!
Sorry for the long delay. I had had the busiest time of my life. Daughter was in hospital. Lost my job/made redundant, and the university year ended with a thousand things to do. Happily daughter is fine, Got my job back and now there are no students! WooooHoooo!! It's back to business. I have made the first few and I am cleaning them up and painting them. I just realized that I forgot those of you who want to buy a raw kit. looks like I will have to get back to fibre glassing.
Firstly, Let me offer my apologies for one of the slowest, if not slowest, mould and pulls in history. It has been a busy year and is only just settling down. Because it is taking me so long to patch the heads I have tried a new way of doing things, and here it is.
Yes! Vac forming. Fingers crossed I can make some of these helmets quicker and cheaper for those of you with a cash flow problem....
