Chrometrooper Costume

after having finished the rey costume for my daughter as well my jedi costume, it was time to begin something new!
because the actress performing the chrometrooper is almost as tall as i am, the decision was easy!
first thing i ordered was the standard ep7 stormtrooper helmet from anovos. really not worth the money i paid for it, but a good beginning.

next thing was an easy one; gloves. in comparison to the ep7 stormtrooper, the chrometrooper has no white leather inserts in and on the gloves. so some cheap sets of simple black gloves were ordered.

next were the c3po lookalike elements on the fingers; i used a simple ali pipe and cut it in short pieces, matching of course in diameter and length to my fingers.
for those wedges on the ring elements i used some ali parts that were remaining from my ali r2d2 shoulder hubs inserts. some simple grinding and gluing and it was quickly done!

then i made a papersheet with the dimensions taken from a movie picture from the hand cover part and transferred it to a piece of 3 mm ali.
some bending, hammering and grinding later (not the finished look!! i want to polish it later!) it looked tlike this:

one more thing to the anovos helmet; of course i have to change some details (to be axact: A LOT !!), but 800 bucks for a chrometrooper helmet (pre order time is december 2016, delivery mext year!) is way too expensive for me!! i intended to do all changes on it on my own. in the end i will paint it with an alclad2 chrome paint.

No news today because I was welding on the Ali skirt for my r2d2!

just saw on a picture, that the backhand shield is in two parts! aargh!!! gonna have to cut it now!

OK. Got a helmet from a friend. Made of Fiberglass and resin. Strange mixture...
Made from hand, not perfect, but close...

A friend of mine will take care of the chrome plating (silver nitrate) for the helmet.

And the chrometrooper version of the blaster is ordered too. In the netherlands to be exact. Waiting time approximately 6-8 weeks.

Just visited the webpage of the 501st for more Details on the armor...quite interesting. It won't be screen accurate in the end, but hey, who will/can compare...

i decided to NOT cut and change the original anovos ep 7 trooper helmet! i got the right helmet!! here it is in comparison to the ep 7 trooper helmet:

News! Got some PDF Files for a Stormtrooper costume. It's for EVA foam, but i will have to change almost every file to fit my body.

Bought a 2 square meter sheet of ali.

Knee pads first. Left the cut out Sheet, right hammered with a woodden hammer on a leathererd sandsack, then straightened it with an english wheel (wheelie).
