Childhood pictures with your toys.

Seeing that rocket you posted Tremas, it totally reminded me of this space shuttle toy I had. Probably got it some time in the 80s, but would have to go through old pics to look.....but still have it here, although, I am missing the the 3 tanks that connected to it.
I remember you pushed the one button and the two side tanks fell off, and then the other button, and the bigger tank popped off.

Opened up as well. It's so dirty now.
My Mom might have the tanks, but not sure. Need to look in my parents attic someday.

I think between Star Wars and then living there in Orlando and watching the Shuttle and rockets get launched, I was always so fascinated with the Space Shuttle and was quite sad when they retired the program. Of course, mission STS-1 was 3 and a half months before I was even born, so I know it was dated, expensive to launch, and quite risky, having already lost two of the vehicles.

Also took this of a bunch I do have of toys I had between a kid and then a bunch I got as a teenager and young adult.

Not a Star Wars toy in the pile, I hope that means they’re all on display, right?
….right?
Well....when I moved 6 years ago, I had to let a bunch of it go. Mainly the figures and stuff like that. I should have a picture, now that I think of it, on my computer. I check once home.

So when I was moving from Florida to Idaho, and had to fit ALL my stuff in the trunk and back seats, between two small cars, I just had to condense. Also really needed the money. A lot of this was given to me by different people over the years.
I've always really prefered the vehicles anyways. Still though, hated to depart with so much.
I found a place over an hour away willing to give me like $150. Its probably worth double. But, being a store, they want to make their money also.
Someone had also given me a ton of the Burger King toys, which were also included. I probably don't even want to know how much they could be worth.
I also sold off a chunk of my video game collection, mainly to make more money for the move.

IDK it seems like a lot of the value of modern SW stuff has gone down. I found an extra one of those POTF2 Cantina Cinema Scene sets I had that was sealed and it's only going for around $5-10. I also have a POTF2 12" Vader (first run) with a little box damage and an Epic Force Vader and they're also barely worth anything. I may throw them all together on ebay and see if I can get $10-20 or something just to get rid of the clutter.

Found this one from the birthday, I’m guessing I got my hand on Man at Arms.

…and this late 70’s one. Lol

Had to train up the infant for a lifetime of rotary phones with the toy there.

We had a big freeze that year so snow prevented using it for a while but I've got snippets on 8mm some where..

So many comments, where to start?? First, you haven't aged since this first pic, beard ya, but dang that is so definitely you.

The cinder block end table was a classic in our house as well.

Your shirt in the first pic is screaming to me. Oh the striped shirts were so in back then. And the party crown.... memories, wow, I swear I have duplicate photos of my buds at my 5th before we moved.

And finally, that rotary phone toy is so timely. I was thinking today that I really badly want a rotary phone bluetoothed to my cell so I can justify slamming the phone in the cradle. I just can't throw the cell phone even if I wanted too. Too frugal. But give me a nice bakelite handset and a rotary and bang, likely after every call just because you can.

The peril of old media, I'm sure I've uploaded the movie as it was getting brittle but know due to the nature of those old cine8 cameras either blinded you with the external heat/light source of came out way dark.

Here's a screenshot of point in question..
8 year old me with my Frank ventriloquist as he was called..

The focal point given by the intense bulb gives a vignette look.
I can still feel the heat! even after all these years.

What's also great about everyone's photos is both the snapshot in time but also those fab wood clad walls..

Oh yes, our parents really enjoyed the wood walls. I remember my dad buying the plain wood and then lightly burning it with a blowtorch before sealing it with clear. The clear that made the house unlivable for seven days.... He was soooo certain that it would be unique. Nearly every dad in our state used a blowtorch on their DIY wood covered walls. Dad was not happy. By the end of that decade, our local mill was producing pre burned paneling.

That Frankenstein is so cool. I would have driven my mom insane doing voices.

Similar story All our adjacent neighbours who'd been round promptly put up a partition wall and Clad..
Dad wasn't amused but hey what is it they about sincerist form of flattery.
I am sure it's where I get my obsession with Mid century furniture from that or the rather cool Readers digest ring bound tomb of a DIY book.

Frank for a long time gave me nightmares so lived in the roof. In my dreams he then chased me round the roof.

He's still with me and lives on a shelf with our taxidermy.

Oh ya, that makes him so much less scary next to all the animals ALSO staring at me.
