Went and saw Chappie last night and I hate to say it, but I think Niel blew it big time with this one. I couldn't wait for it to be over.

I was quite disappointed, I loved District 9 and Elysium so I had high hopes for Chappie.

Hopefully he does better with the next Alien movie.

So i won an auction for an office desk set and hippos gaming set. It just came in today so I'll take some pictures soon.

Cool. I'd like to get an ID tag and some of the armored car heist money. I'm sure whoever wins it will be parting it out like what happened with the Ameros from Elysium.

...Actually, I'd like a Tetravaal jumpsuit, too... And an RSAP special forces uniform. And some of the Tetravaal paperwork...

Unfortunately not. Those listings went up just as I won mine. I'm working on some reproductions of the paperwork for the free paper props thread. A bunch of text was lifted from some text books about urban planning. When I find a free minute and finish the letterhead, I'll post it. I would love to get a stack of the heist cash but I am sure they are going to piece it out.

For anyone keen on Ninja's ammunition carrier from the beginning of the movie, it's a South African Defense Force M83 Ammunition Carrier.
This is also worn by some of the troops in District 9.

Here is a cap of Ninja's "Bite Me Fanboy" vest (also worn in the Pitbull Terrier video), the same patches appear on the ammunition carrier. I'm going to guess all of these are custom made, since they feature the DA font. Patches N pins makes a 1st Battalion patch. Anybody care to take a crack at mocking up the others? I'm trying to replicate the carrier, since the VIP auction left my price range today. lol

The patch graphics are based on old military ones, 32 Battalion, South African Infantry, Sharpshooters etc.
They have been modified for this purpose but their lineage is based on real-world unit insignia.

Yes indeed! SADF had a knack for making things like buffalo, giraffe, and foxes look badass on their insignia.
