'Cause it's dark out and dinosaurs are sneaky! (Night Vision Goggles, WIP)

I thought some of you guys would get a kick out of seeing these. I've wanted a pair of dino-goggles forever so I finally gave in and started working on these between other jobs.

Here's where I am on my rough base sculpt. There's still plenty to add and lots to change, but I'm pleased with where things are headed.

This pic shows my current goggle sculpt with machined acrylic light rings and aluminum lenses. If you guys want to see the proto progress up to this point I'll gladly add more info to this thread.

Here's one more in slightly brighter light:

Looks perfect :)

Thanks, guys. The real trick of these is keeping just the right amount of 'wonky' and resisting the urge to clean everything up. If things are too clean, it starts to create a boxy look so it's a real balancing act choosing what to straighten or what to leave a little left or right of center. It's terribly difficult to keep the spirit of older props such as this. They were cobbled together for a take or two with no thought of a group of guys scrutinizing them 20 years later. That said, there's really nothing symmetrical about the originals...

After a while of digging and searching, I came across this thread.
Rylo what a great creation. This really is becoming a magnificent piece!
Can't wait to see the results.

Thought you guys might enjoy seeing a little fiberglass. Almost there! Again, just sharing pics of my personal build, here.

Edit:

I'll be updating pics soon.

Looking incredible. The black inner lining looks very nice - something I always wondered how you were going to tackle - or is that the fibreglass mesh?
