Casting Call: Wonder Woman movie

What about Alexandra Daddario? She's definitely got the right look, she's young enough without looking like a kid and she can act. She might have to work out a bit but she's mostly there.

While she can act and definitely has the... ahem... assets, she's really pale. Like practically translucent.

I know tanning can help, but to me, she's like Kat Dennings or Zooey Deschanel. None of them would look anywhere as alluring if they tanned.

After watching Hansel and Gretal: Witch Hunters and seeing Gemma Arterton kicking arse, I think she'd be fantastic if she's tone up and do a little bulking up. She's got some serious potential as an action heroine.

She's pretty, yes, and has a great physical stature, but her acting resume is decidedly lacking. 1 actress credit (low budget vampire flick where, even though she had a lead role, she hardly had any lines), 1 Miscellaneous Crew credit (on-set teacher for an episode of Lost Girl... not sure what she was teaching...), and a semi-finalist in the 2000 Miss Teen USA pageant... I think I'd pass on her for the role in an audition, unless she outclassed everyone else by a mile.

Gina Carrano was pretty bad in her first role. Either choice would need to polish up their acting chops. I dunno, Wonder Woman has to be physically imposing IMO.

I think when it comes to the character of Wonder Woman (NOT NEW 52 WONDER WOMAN), the actress should be able to convey a strong sense of compassion more so than her physical build. While I think Gina has the build down pat, I think that's all she'll be able to give the character. Since "Man of Steel" now has a Superman who no longer takes the initiative, and Batman is a melo-dramatic nut case, it'd be a breath of fresh air if Wonder Woman actually had motivation to care about the well being of others that doesn't stem from tragedy or being forced into the position. She needs to be the Captain America of the DC movies.

See, I have to disagree. Gina Carano's acting was actually good in Haywire. She played the character she was supposed to play and conveyed the idea of the character right. The script itself, though, is what was bad.

The issue with Caitlin MacIntosh, though, is that her character in the movie she was in was deliberately written to have very few lines, so we really can't judge how well she can act and deliver lines.

Well, as far as who I can see right now doing it, I still think Gina could be that girl. I think she could polish up her acting. I've never read WW comics so I don't no what sort of range WW has, like Jeyl mentioned.

A good director and script can save an average actor.

So NOT TRUE. Haven't you ever seen a good movie that suffered from one bad actor? I still feel the Matrix is squashed in certain spots because of Keanu - Interview with a Vampire - Cruise looks like Brando against Pitt. Bad actors destroy the content of a film.

As for Wonder Woman - It would probably take a Jennifer Lawrence to get this film greenlit and going. A model or some background actress just won't be trusted to carry this -- now that you have a failed tv pilot against it.

Then why are some actors good in some films and terrible in others?

I honestly feel that a lot of the time you disagree with people just to start an argument.
