Casting Call: Wonder Woman movie

Depending on the film, that may also be exactly what they wanted. I tend to think it's easy to spot which Nic Cage films those are. How'd it get burned?! HOW'DITGETBURNEDHOW'DITGETBURNEDHOW'DITGETBURNED?!?!?! :lol

Gina Carrano pulled of some impressive displays of her MMA skills in Haywire. Acting, not so much.

To be fair, we really haven't seen a real display of Gina Carano's acting abilities. Haywire was not exactly a stellar script, and actors/actresses can only work with what they are given (hence the terrible displays of acting by both Liam Neeson and Natalie Portman in the Star Wars prequels (I say terrible only in comparison to their other work)).

Keanu Reeves in The Matrix Trilogy
Shia LeBouf, Megan Fox, and Rosie Huntington Whitely in the Transformers movies
Any movie with Dane Cook, Rob Schneider, Ahnuld Schvazzeneggah, or any movie featuring a current teeny-bopper.

Your argument is now invalid.

You forgot Channing Tatum, James Franco, the entire cat of Twilight... give me time... I'll run with this all day long. ;)

Should either "recast" Adrianne Palicki or go with Serinda Swan and NOT make a costume that looks like a rental costume :facepalm

Where is Jeyl? So he can see this ship sail away...

I've experienced some of the worst treatment done to Wonder Woman's character over the past year in the form of her "New 52" depiction. If this series doesn't get picked up, it will hardly register on my radar.

Adrianne Palicki she looked the part. Also she isnt a huge big name actress that would take away from the movie.

You know Lana Parrilla who plays the Evil Queen on Once upon a time would be a good choice. She can act, got the figure for it and is about the age wonder woman would be at. Plus she is very pretty

Gemma i would love to see, but she is very high demand. She has to back out of stuff all the time to do other movies. time delays suck and movie studios get tired of moving stuff around for one person.

I had my favourite Lauren Graham promoted before (7 years! Man, time flies!) and made this shop,

which is now floating around the net and several comic forums, as well as a petition, Lauren Graham for the new Wonder Woman movie by Joel Silver Petition it even got noticed couple months later by her (mentioned in interviews) and I sent it the petition to WB. Well, as you can see, WW Movie went straight into development hell as with many other movies. And Lauren isn't getting younger…

So, as of 2013, I would pull off the "Superman Movie" casting trick, cast an unknown, but theater trained actress , even better if of greek descendant and being able to speak greek. A shame, that Melina Kanakaredes from CSI: NY, wasn't younger, she had the wonderful curled hair for WW. Should at least look like the comic version (the hair could be dyed black) and between 25-30. The costume should either be as close as the comic version (while I also like the New52, which isn't that deviating from the golden age costume - silver is an intersting choice).

The problem I see with WW, how to translate the origin story to a 2013 version with a strong resonance… Poor Adrianne got flakked for her performance, but as you know, you can't turn a $h1tty script to gold, if the screenwriter doesn't understand the character.

Tricia Helfer, looks good, can act and is quite tall. The only weak spot is that she's not that young any more.

Does she have to be pre-30's?

I'd rather not have a child play this character. I don't know that she has ever had an "age" to begin with. I think, as a seasoned Justice Leaguer, she should be older... not a girl.

That makes it difficult to do more than a movie or two with an actress. Generally, it's easier to make a younger actress look age appropriate than to get an older actress look the right age.

They've been managing ok with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan. ;)

I've always found Wonder Woman amazingly beautiful and sexy so when I saw Gina Carano I immediately thought of her as Wonder Woman. She has the muscle and ability to do her stunts, same hair, tough attitude, same general age, even same breasts. I definitely think producers should definitely give a good look at her or at least have a meeting over it.image.jpg
