Interest Cast metal Luke ROTJ shared stunt saber

thank you dan! If it matters, the finish could be left dull and pockmarked, for our use. I think we're looking for sharper angles and dimensions more than a homogenous finish, maybe that's less work for them?

The caption for the sample photo says "plated"

Maybe, like the sink knobs, a plating was put over the cast and that may have something to do with the soft edges. The pommel on the left in that shot doesn't look the same. Screen Shot 2017-09-06 at 3.07.46 PM.png

Hi. Could it be cast with a bolt or something inside the neck? Although heavy as they go, I'd want to take this out and worry of any knock or taking a seat in future being an epic fail.

I've been battling with them for the past week and it's been pretty ugly. There's a time difference, so my past week has been full of furious late night e-mail exchanges that kind make me want to pull my hair out :wacko

I've told them that their sample is unacceptable, and the mold will have to be completely remade. They're trying to bilk me out of more money. I've told them I'm not throwing good money after bad. It looks like I am going to have to remake the master myself and maintain a tighter control over all all stages of production.

Just a small update. I've reached an impasse with my shop. They're unwilling to correct their mistakes or remake the prototype and master mold. They're trying to keep my money, having delivered me nothing, and they're hoping to get away with it because we are in two different countries. I'm trying to enlist the help of an arbitrator, but it looks like they might end up screwing me out of quite a bit of money. It's a nightmare

***** ******! Is there any way to compromise and have them make a bare-bones thing we can work on ourselves? Trying to think of a way to keep you from getting screwed..

Not really. They screwed up the original master before making to mold. So every casting would have problems. They won't fix it unless I pay them more, and I'm not throwing good money after bad when they haven't provided me with confidence that they can produce quality work. And I'd rather eat the cost to myself then ship out products that people won't be happy with.

Ever think of reaching out to zenix? He's made pewter castings before, maybe he could help you?

Damn, I'm so sorry to hear this is what you're dealing with, Dan :(

That's nasty. Where's the company located? Let me know if I can help or support you in any way.

Gotta love the internet... everyone gets that "liquid courage"

I'm sure the tone would be different if we were all there face to face with them...
