So this movie will be very scarce in gadgets, but will there be ANY props at all?

Theres some CASINO chips available at propstore.com IIRC

I got the a airsoft UMP - I`d need a fatter silencer to be more accurate - and he didnt have a vert grip or sight so I`d need to remove them.

More pics here... gallery

Does he still use the Walther p99 in this movie? And does he use a silencer?

Pretty sure he does - I saw it today but didnt note exactly what it was but my subconscience is saying it was for some reason.

Just took the film in for the first viewing rather than watch it like a gun geek. 8)

So the "Q" scene will be 30 seconds... Bond comes in, Q issues him a paper clip and gum wrapper... MACGYVER style :p

hey guys. Lets just say today I got something *special* from the company I work for that has to do with casino royale. ;) Trust me, the PPK is in there. Its a remake of the earlier casino royale.

The PPK is there, not the P99. But to say it's a remake of the earlier Casino Royale.... :unsure that was a spoof. This is based more closely to the book.

I don't know if I can get used to Bond playing Hold em over baccarat.

Actually, there was a made for TV version of Casino Royale that aired in the late 50's as well as the Niven/Sellers Spoof movie. The TV version was played serious, but still not very close to Fleming's book....

lol. no, my bad. Didnt mean a remake of that spoof. haha. From what ive been hearing, this film is supposed to be good. Lot better quality than the last couple. Daniel Craig was wonderful in Layer Cake. Definitely a recommended view as well.

"James Bond will be packing a Walther PPK in his holster again in "Casino Royale", according to MI6 Forum member `leontheprofessional`.

007 last used the famous gun in the 1997 film "Tomorrow Never Dies", with Bond then opting for the later model - the Walther P99.

According to the source, Eon Productions ordered a batch of Walther PPK's from the company who supply them with movie guns (blank firers, rubber etc). This was at the end of 2005.

The insider has confirmed again recently, that the Walther PPK will feature in the film.

Thanks to `leontheprofessional` for the alert."

Unless its really a P22 he's carrying, a P99 isnt TOO concealable to be able to carry really under a tux without knowing hes packing. I have a 8 foot by 4 foot banner, same pic, with the walther ppk. It's super big and I have a great view of the PPK. I'm going to be watching it tonight at a special screening. Nope, not a corny midnight show open to the public. Something more...exclusive. ;) I'll let you all know the verdict but I'm pretty sure he uses both the PPK and the P99. Like said in the above quote, the production company took out a batch of PPKs from a firearms specialist. But, Ill get you guys a definite in a 45 minutes. Alright, I'm off to the show. Later...

well thats why i never understood bond "switching" to the p99...... if you watch in The World is Not enough, you can tell Bond ONLY has the p99 on under his tux as soon as he holsters it because it creates a large buldge in a well fitted tux.... next scene the buldge is gone....

I see Bond as being a SMART spy...... and a smart person uses the right tool for the job.... guns are tools so it would stand to reason he would have different guns for diferent scenarios........ P99 for more tactical situations....... PPK for concealment...

I know it wont happen, but a I was actually hoping that he would use a berretta, and have it jam on him at the end. It would have been a nice nod to Dr. No.

Well guys, I would have to say it is a big no. There is no PPK in that film anywhere. Disappointing. But never the less, the film was fantastic. I was never a huge Bond fan but consider me a convert. Craig did a wonderful job as expected. His acting is top notch and all sides of Bond become exposed in this film. Seriously, by the end of the movie, you know that HE is Bond. Well acted, well directed, lots of fun. Movie may seem a little long towards the end, but the it all leads to the next one. Wonderful, just wonderful. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Oh, and one more thing, the gun in the Casino Royale banner I have with him walking, which is posted a few posts up, IS a PPK. One way to tell is the hammer at the back of the gun and the rounded corners as compared to the P99 which has beveled, hard angled corners and no hammer. Enjoy guys.

oh and as for props, there is the defribulator, martini, tracking device, cell phone, omega watch, the woman's necklace, poker chips, bomb, aston martin keychain, and probably some other small things I forgot. It's a little late. lol Not many gadgets though. Still a great film though.

oh and heres another shot from the press kit. Oh. Look what hes holding. A PPK. How wonderful. lol[attachmentid=11118]
