Cardboard ROBOCOP armour build

That was a great video upload of your test fit! That is the level of craftmanship I hope to accomplish! I am so glad I got to see that! Truly made my night! :)

That came out incredible. Nice video. You even move like him. Is that the suit causing you to move that way?

Hi

Thanks for the positive replies.

The suit restricts my movements a lot so part of the "robo movements" are taken care of on their own as it is impossibel to move too fast. When its complete I will practice getting the movements perfected as it is my goal to not lok like a guy in a robocop suit, but to actually look like robocop. I think the key to it is slow precise movements, all at a steady speed with a sharp stop at the end (think of a cctv camera panning left to right, it goes from dead still to moving at a constant speed to a dead stop, thats what i need to do)

very impressive build, and with cardboard, it's a shame it wont last more than a few years. Looking forward to seeing finished suit

Hello again!

This suit is taking absolutly aaaaaaages, and is labour of love, i dont think i would do this again, even for thousands of pounds/dollars!

This suit will be just as, if not more robust than the fibre glass robo-suits you can get. it is one of my key points im working on along with the abilty to quickly suit up unaided.

Ive got a few pics of the basic jist of the gloves. Sorry it took so long but I need to do some careful planning for he hands to make sure they fit properly and work how i want them (they are cardboard and not latex after all)

Robo fist!

The robo-glove holding a robo size gun for size comparison, looks just about right. I know i have an Auto-9 pistol, but at present it is... inaccessable...

So i have since dismantled the glove and laid out all the parts ready for making duplicates for the other hands.

Now its just a case of cutting out all the parts, putting them all together, and then adding all the details, all 3 times.... gonna be fun.

next update when i have made some decent progress on the gloves.

Dude, super dope!!! I too am tackling a cardboard Robocop this year....I will be using your thread as a ref. for sure!!

It's great to see you're doing this by eye and without any pep templates :thumbsup I'm a huge fan of Robocop and The Terminator, so seeing this and your endoskeleton in the background makes me smile, keep up the hard work :)

Hey Meathead' nice work on th' hands how did ya tackle th' palm area ? Couldn't see it clearly ,most of th' pics were from th' back of th' hands thanx brah keep up th' good work.:cool:cool

Man Meathead, I feel like pep'ing a suit is taking ages! I can't imagine doing it from scratch!
You sir are amazing and the suit is awesome!
How are you going to do the "Blueing" effect the armor had in the movie... I believe it was sposed to be Titanium, so had that rainbow hue effect at the edges and high spots? Are you going to airbrush or go solid colored?
Thanks for the updates! Things like this keep me going! I'm still a huge RoboCop fan!

yo yo yo!!!

Cardboard Robocop Armour Test Fit - YouTube

As you can see it all fits and moves pretty well... all except for the cod piece, so when my glue gets here i will adjust it accordingly and also sew onto my undersuit velcro for the abdominal bands between the codpiece and torso.

Thats all for now!

That armor looks awesome! Are you going to paint it the color of Robo Cop in the movies? Looks like a lot of hard work is paying off!! :thumbsup :thumbsup
