Lucasfilm said Thursday: 'The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. Carano confirmed the settlement herself on her official X account stating: 'I have come to an agreement with Disney/Lucasfilm, which I believe is the best outcome. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future,' the statement added. For all parties involved, I hope this brings some healing to the force.'

Whatever she had on Disney must have been dynamite. They most definitely did not want this taken to trial. I wish they had though, would have been satisfying to see Iger and Kennedy squirm on the stand.
They absolutely didn't want to go through discovery and potentially have the information released to the public. This is a tacit admission on Disney's part that Gina had a point and they were guilty.

Most big corporations will settle rather than go to trial because it’s less expensive for them…even if they feel they’re in the right.

Lawyers typically charge hourly so a short settlement is cheaper than a long drawn out trial.

Too bad. I wish Disney would have nailed her to the wall.
Oh, well. It’s not like I’m going to watch anything she in in the future.
It just follows a normal formula: sport/athlete is getting roles that will always be physical...she'll be used and typed-casted for a long time. I was glad to see Arnold getting the types of role where emoting and really acting is demanded. One day, perhaps, Gina will have one of those character.

I miss the days when celebrities and studios kept their political beliefs mostly out of the spotlight. It was about the work. Their pissing matches with each other or the audience overshadows the film or show because it's more entertaining than the content of the fiction. That's a bad place to be. Everything is politicized and it sucks all the joy out of escapism. You can't ignore it anymore. It's beyond overt and unprofessional.

Just tell us a great story, Hollywood. Leave your personal issues at the door.

There's a difference between keeping your mouth shut completely and at least respecting your employers enough not to do it while doing promotional tours, etc. I don't care if they embarrass themselves on their own time, but Hollywood has to start caring if they damage their brands because these people can't shut their fat gobholes on the job.

Especially in a day and age where sadly, if you say something, half the people hate you for it. Doesn't matter a bit what you said, but if it happens to align with one side or the other you're hated by the other half. Seems like it'd be smarter to say nothing, but society isn't wired that way anymore. Everyone has to say something.

Unfortunately, these people are trying to be victims. If people hate them, it's not because of anything they did, it's because the side they hate is evil. It's a positively childish tactic that both sides pull and it's pathetically stupid.

It's simply unprofessional. Actors airing personal grievances or spewing their political diatribe would be bad enough ( no matter what way you leaning on the spectrum) but having the studio sanction or decry it is akin to adults allowing their toddler to throw a tantrum in public.

These people are paid a fortune to play pretend and the studio heads need to stop pretending they're running for office.

Well that's the thing, isn't it? Iger totally wants to run for office.
