Carano confirmed the settlement herself on her official X account stating: 'I have come to an agreement with Disney/Lucasfilm, which I believe is the best outcome. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future,' the statement added. For all parties involved, I hope this brings some healing to the force.'

They absolutely didn't want to go through discovery and potentially have the information released to the public. This is a tacit admission on Disney's part that Gina had a point and they were guilty.

Most big corporations will settle rather than go to trial because it’s less expensive for them…even if they feel they’re in the right.

Lawyers typically charge hourly so a short settlement is cheaper than a long drawn out trial.

Disney usually wins its lawsuits by extending the proceedings until the other person runs out of money. That wasn’t going to happen with Elon Musk backing her.
