Captain America!

I'll give it 4 outta 5 stars. It was good but not on the epic scale that I was hoping for. Still very enjoyable though...

Finally got to see the movie and loved it. Surprisingly my wife even liked it and she had no idea who Cap was...I had to give her a quick Captain America 101 lesson before the movie started.

The only problem I have is that I think they should had waited to release The Avengers in 2013. 2012 just seems too early because of the lack of tie ins with all the characters AND the fact that Hawkeye doesn't have any intro until the Avengers. Also what happened to The Hulk? How are they going to tie him into the Avengers?

I think it would have been nice to have a the following movies to add more tie ins to the Avengers: Captain America 2, Hulk 3, and Hawkeye Origins story.

Also are Wasp and Ant Man going to be in the Avengers or are they just going to be thrown into the Avengers and have post Avenger spin off movies?

I just think that they should wait another year to add more to the storyline pre Avengers. I know the cartoon on Disney Channel is supposed to do that but it would be nice to get some more filler. Anyone else feel that way?

Ant-Man (which is presumably where Wasp would be intro'd as well) is supposed to have a movie come out in early 2012, a few months before Avengers.

**Edit: Apparently, I'm mistaken and they've pushed Ant Man to 2014.

My girlfriend thought she had figured out the plot of the movie last night (she knew NOTHING about Captain America before the moviee) and swore that Captain America was going to turn evil then the U.S. would have to stop him. I can see why she would think that but I told her that Cap is the ultimate "good guy" in the comic world, even moreso than Superman. She looked at me with a blank stare and said...."Oh....":lol

Overall pretty good. I usually enjoy a good "good guy vs. Nazis" movie. I did catch the "trinkets in the desert" reference and thought of Indy.

As for Hawkeye, he did have an extended cameo in Thor. I was kinda dissapointed that we didn't see Hulk in the Avengers trailer, but they probably haven't gotten much of his CG done yet. But, based upon what we've seen, Loki will be the bad guy and the Cosmic Cube is involved. Perhaps they'll follow the comics and Loki will turn Hulk against the Avengers, at least for awhile.

Saw it last night in 3D and overall thoroughly enjoyed it. Not knowing much about Cap to begin with, it's made me into a bit of an instant fan and I'd definitely go see it again given the chance. 4/5 from me.

The comics had a storyline like that years ago, when I was a kid. The Real Cap was frozen at the end of WWII, and thawed out in the sixties. But there was a Captain America and Bucky in the fifties.
So the story was that these were copies made to fight communism. However the formula wasn't quite right and they slowly went crazy. So they were captured and frozen. Years later they escaped and fought the real Cap.

Great Storyline! They have recently brought that Fake Cap back as well.

I give this film 2.5 bananas out of 5 bananas. My favourite character in the entire film was bucky. It started of well, poddered about with needless montages in the middle and then they rushed the ending. By marvel standards this film ranks as my least favourite of the Marvel studio flicks, seems like since they announced the avengers film that all the films are half arsed attempts at what could be an amazing films, all just so everyone knwos who is who in the avengers film.

Praise be Hugo Weaving for his outstanding performance at the red skull. Thumbs up.

I saw CA last night and thought it was good but fell short in some places. I don't think that they couldve done a TON better but I just had personal gripes with it.

I also saw this last night, and i have to say after all the hype i felt pretty let down by the movie.

i thought the lead up and intro of Cap was great some of the action scene's were done well, but boy why did it have to be so long, i can think of at least half an hour of screen time that could have been cut or the action scene's extended more.
Cap in full flow beating the bad guys was pretty cool and reminded me a lot of how 300 looked you know the fast to slow motion !!

Overall it was ok but it could have been soooooooo much better, i understand the need to rush these movie's for the movie goer who doesn't know the character history, but this was a slow starter for me.

one question
It seems the guy Loki from Thor is going to be the Villian in the Avengers, is Loki really that bad ass to warrant battling all the Avengers ? i know very little of this character.

now

the trailer for Imortals that aired really excite's me as does Conan

Regarding the serum, they did take blood samples from Cap in the movie. Maybe the Hulk serum is derived from further experiments to recreate the serum from the blood samples

In the Thor movie, Thor tries to retrieve Mjolnir from the crater site, Agent Colson sends in agents to take him down and says he needs someone up high, it zooms in on a bow and shows a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent reaches for it. Colson says something like "Barton watch him" and Jeremy Renner gets ready to take down Thor. This was weird in theaters because i forgot Renner was Hawkeye, and after i figured it out i thought Colson needed a birds eye view and who got it for him? Hawkeye! LoL

The end of Hulk had Tony Stark walk up to the General at the bar and the General says "you always have the best suits, you should talk" Tony says "We're assembling a team" Then, it shows Bruce running through Canada, he's meditating and the count of his days without incident counts to zero. I'm guessing he learns to control it because his eyes turn green and he smiles. As for him and S.H.I.E.L.D, i'm not sure how they find him and recruit him.

Edward Norton's Hulk movie was a remake (or a retry) from Eric Bana's Hulk, I have no idea why Bruce Banner looks different in every movie but if they make a Hulk sequel i hope they stick with Mark Ruffalo. Chris Evans said he signed on for a sequel, Avengers series, and team ups. It was originally 9 movies in his contract but now is down to 6. So Ant Man and Wasp may be somewhere in those movies

I reckon , Loki goes after the cube in doing so faces off against the avengers. Loki does his trickster magic and takes over the hulk and uses the hulk against the avengers. Big battles ensue, lots of stuff blows up, roberty down jr cracks a joke, loki is defeated by RDJ's joke and sent back to asgard. Avengers high 5, of wait more trouble lurks in the background, could this possibly be a line up for a sequel?

that shwo i think its gonna throw down, could be horribly wrong though.

After watchin Hulk vs. Thor yea it looks like Loki may get ahold of Hulk at some point since he took control of Erik

This actually was my first comic book hero movie and im glad it was, i was really impressed and immediatly have been seeing iron man and the rest of the avenger characters.. and just incase anyone was wondering i didnt know what avengers was lol im a bad nerd

Though I am a DC guy myself, I am really rooting for Marvel that everything they have been setting up for these past few years really pays off. With The Avengers, they are litterally putting all their eggs in one basket.
Fortunatly, Captain America was a GREAT movie - had it not been, the interest level for The Avengers may have dropped substantially - more so for the casual movie-goer than the comic book fans, considering that Cap is the "leader", it would not have been good to have a failure at this standpoint.

I lean to the DC side of things - but that will change this September when they reboot everything with ugly uniforms.

That said, watching this Marvel Motion Picture Universe has been nothing less than exciting. They're doing it right and they're doing it very well... it seems very natural.

Other than the first X-Men movies (which wasn't Mavel Movie Universe), everything has been above average.
