Captain America!

Finally saw the movie last night! Loved it! Although Red Skull could've been "fleshed-out" a little more (no pun intended). I love genre movies that are set in the 20s, 30s, and 40s like Rocketeer, Dick Tracy, and Sky Captain so this was a definite must see for me.

Want to see Thor again. Luckily it's playing at the second-run theater here now. My dad hasn't seen it yet, but he really enjoyed Cap last night and the Iron Man movies, so we will probably go see Thor. Looking forward to The Avengers.

Well, it's "Hail, Hydra!" and they're kind of stuck with that and the goofy salute because of the comics. At least they weren't wearing green and yellow.

And, really? That's the dumbest thing you've ever seen in a comic book movie? :lol

... Although Red Skull could've been "fleshed-out" a little more ...

I have been told by people that "I" look better in mrbungle's Red Skull mask than what we see in the movie.

So we saw the movie. And I have a one word review.

REALLY?

Really guys? Everyone loves THIS movie? My God, it was worse than any Stallone or Arnold movie from the 80's or 90's. It was bad. Not just bad - it was silly.

The best part was when he was selling war bonds.

Wow. What a terrible terrible movie. Yuck. Oh, the main female character was super hot. She was my favorite FAVORITE part.

Just seen it and thought it was great.....some very small details that tie in with other superheros. A solid preformance from Chris Evans did the comics Justic WIN WIN.

Whoah! ..... ....... ...... ........ ......... ......... Anger rising...... ....... ........ ...... ....... ......... ....... ......... Anger cooling...... ....... ....... ...... ...... ...... ..... ...... .......Are you insane BladeFanChuck?

Im sorry man, this movie was just terrible. You remember the plot of the videogame Wolfenstein? Yeah. Captain America basically just ripped off the plot of that game, stuck it on screen, and covered it in HORRIBLE costumes.

Don't even get me started on Hiel Hydra. I'll let that slide. But the movie was just subpar.

I can't BELIEVE it's getting good reviews. I mean, you people hated Blade Trinity. But loved this????

I have this feeling in a few years people will look back on this movie and realize how BAD it is. Like they do now with the Spiderman movies. Which by the way, were bad too.

Now the lead actress? Yeah, she was wonderful. I mean, just SUPERB!

I agree - I just got around to seeing the theatrical release (saw 20min a few months back) it wasn't as good as I thought it could have been - but Joe Johnston is just this kind of director. The movie needed at least 15 min cut and it would have been much better. It drug on and on and on and on. They talked longer about missions than the missions actually took. A certain death was reduced to meaningless and my biggest complaint -- NO NAZIS!!?!?!? Hydra - C'mon. If they'd have just left a few more swatikas in, the vibe would have been different and IMO better. Now, I didn't hate everything - I loved the recruitment posters of cap done by Alex Ross, Loved the USO suit - especially the ski-cap helmet. I liked Howard Stark - l liked the blonde he made out with -- I liked Mini Steve Rogers and I LOVED the fact that my son enjoyed it so much. I just wish they'd have done a little more Saving Private Ryan and less "For the Boys".

Quoted for TRUTH!! The worst part of this movie is that it wasn't horrible, but that it didn't live up to its potential.

Anyone else feel like Marvel has MARGINALIZED all there characters in order to prepare them for this Avengers stuff?

I mean, I could be wrong. I'm no Larry Young.

Best movie ever. i literally could and would have watched 2 hours of just Steve Rogers, before he became Captain America. A 2 hour origin story would have been great. More nazi themes were not needed and I am glad they were not included. Again Best Movie Ever. If anything the movie should have been 30 minutes longer. That is all.

hahahaha. You had me with "If anything the movie should have been 30 minutes longer."

That got me laughing. I felt the same way about the Blade movies. Apparently I was the only one!

SteveRogers84, of course there's no bias in your critique. A cute baby holding the shield - Nahhh, not watching the film through star spangled glasses. Not you. Putting Nazis in it would have only elevated the realism to maybe Indiana Jones level = or heck, maybe Indy can just fight Hydra for his next adventure.

I also forgot to mention in my list of things I liked in the movie - surprisingly, I had no problems with Chris Evans. He actually ACTED in it. I wish they would have cleaned up some of the clutter going on, people spitting exposition or reaffirming matters that have already been addressed - but as I said - it would have all been taken care of by a good CHOP of 15 to 20 min.

PS: You all caught the fact that that woman who played the female lead in Captain America, yeah. SHE'S GONNA BE TONY STARK'S MOTHER.

You all caught that? Right? I'm not the only one?

The movie had Nazis. It just quickly moved past them by showing how panzy they are compared to Hydra. I thought that was the point. These are the dudes the NAZIS think need to chill. Just as Cap is a hyperbolic hero, a realistically based opposing force would not suffice.

Peggy? :lol I don't think so.......but she will be the grandmother of Caps love interest in The Avengers. Tony's mom was Maria Cerrera.
