Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Post-release)

Picked it up today, just got done watching it. Just as good the second time around, really like this one. And dat sound mix... hope I didn't **** off my neighbors.. lol.

Unless the american bluray is a lot different to the british one, there are not that many special features, gag reel, some very short making ofs, and commentary.

Plus the falcon saying "cut the check" a bunch of times.

I enjoyed the BD more than i did watching at the Cinema. (Cineworld in Hull...) I was really disappointed at the extras.....a total of about, what 20 mins? That said, the PQ was wonderful and the 7.1 DTS-HD sound was incredible!!

the bluray release extras are lackluster at best............i guess they are saving all the good stuff for the phase 2 box

I honestly didn't even look. Extras have been kinda lousy for pretty much the entire franchise. I guess the first Iron Man had some decent extras, but I can't really think of anything special from anything since then.

Yeah this particular set is severely lacking extras and I would hardly call any of the inclusions bonuses. More like boguses. These featurettes are SO SHORT! The gag reel was arely anything. It just looks so lazily put together. This movie was one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and they did poorly on added stuff.

The movie rules and that's why I bought it, but you see other movies out there and the many extras they include and it just makes this look like a joke.

I watched it last night. And noticed that when he gives his big speech at the end, he is wearing his stealth suit leather harness with the shield attached in the back.

You think they'd catch something like that!

Whatever happened to in depth, 90 minute "Making of..." docs that we used to get???? And, yeah, where was the "One Shot"???

Exactly! I buy blu rays for extras, lets face it if you just wanted the movie you can get it free online. Spending $25 for the disk, which in this day and age probably cost 20 cents to manufacture and all you get is the movie you already paid $16 to see in the Theatre? For the money it should be full of extras, its just cheap and lazy of them to do this. But again still a great movie.

Maybe some people want to pay for their movies and not acquire them illegally... :facepalm

A nice Marvel One Shot could be to see how they were able to appropriate the Falcon wings for Sam.

One of the reasons I hate the industry... put out a half-assed product first... then hit people with the good stuff later and the people that actually want all the bonus goodies take it in the tail twice. And they wonder why people have no shame in downloading movies from peer-2-peer sites... it finally gives them the chance to stick it to the people who've been stealing their money for so long with shady marketing tactics.

its fun to be high and mighty, but I bought my copy. I am making a point that its no secret there are sites to download movies, having extras like making of's are a selling point for disks. And this one is very lacking, that was the point of my post.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I'm not that familiar with Captain America, besides the basics and what's presented in the movies, but does seem like anybody else that he was a bit too strong in TWS? I mean, as I understand he's strong but on the super human strength scale he's pretty low on it, if not at the bottom, and the super soldier syrum didn't provide him any kind of limited invlnerability yet we see him doing things that should have at the least broken a few bones if not killed him outright. One example was in the beginning where he jumped out of the quin jet without a parachute and into the water, shouldn't that have at the very least smashed his legs into tiny little bits because he's not Wolverine with admantium laced bones, or Hulk and his near complete invulnerability.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Probably just Hollywood forgetting that water isn't soft. No different than any other movie where someone jumps into water safely from a height that would not be safe.
