"Captain America, how exciting!" TWS TFA Rescue USO and Ultimates WW2

Re: "Captain America, how exciting!" Ultimate, Rescue and starting TFA Hero

Glad the work thus far meets approval.

Was able to get the blue and white on the helmet during the brief moments of correct humidity.

hanks, I should have spent one more day sanding before texturing and painting.
My plan of a weathered helmet and battle damaged shield has been vetoed so my compromises and laziness shows.

The final line was "kids don't want to see the man of steel dirty and beat up".

Wrong Character :wacko Wrong Franchise :confusedbut the point was made. :lol

"Stand in the door!"

Kind of a Ultimates TFA.
Put in a 1/4" foam pad with self-adhesive velcro and quickly used a spare chin and nape strap from an ACH.
The goggles are a pair of Bobsters.
Plan to make the correct leather ear cups and chin strap for the TFA helmet and then do another fiberglass 'proper' Ultimates for the ACH system.

Put on the sleeves, figured out where the adjustable cuffs needed to be, and then attached the star.

Oh WOW! That shield is spectacular! It's so pristine it looks like an auto accessory... ...I think I just found a way to make my mom's car AWESOME.

...please don't be offended, but this is immediately what I thought of. (You said something about asking forgiveness is better than asking permission?) I thought I'd share.

High quality sculpture work you're putting into this!

:lol :lol That's great and don't worry about offending rather thick skinned.

Gentlemen, thanks for your comments if you like my work and have yet to see it, jump over to Steamshovel's just finished TFA Hero suit to be truly amazed.
The TFA bar has been set really high by a master craftsman.

So did I miss something - are you going to get some hi res pics of these costumes, or is there a specific event you are waiting for? I just want more pictures of the finished versions!

Fly, this is looking great man. Are you headed to NYCC at all?

Absolutely love your work on this! This costume was my favorite Capt costume in the movies. Looked so rugged and real! You are doing masterful work here!

Re: "Captain America, how exciting!" Ultimate, Rescue and starting TFA Hero

Thanks, rugged and real are two very important aspects. ;)

Had a question about the stars for the Rescue Shield.

They are are 4 inches and 2.5 inches high peak to trough, measured on the center line.

They were drawn on a computer, printed on UNV-80109 Universal Laser Printer Labels, and then cut out.

The layout was easy since I had made a 1:1 scale drawing.
