Belt is all painted. Only thing left to do is to air brush the battle damage.
I need to do the same to my shield so now I'm going to focus on getting the shield harness finished and the star back on. Had someone hit the shield and the star just feel off. So need to do a better job of j b wielding it on.
As far as the armor goes it's all finished I'll be doing a full suit up very soon.
Thanks for looking.
Full suit up. The only issues I had were with the thighs not being high enough so will have to adjust a little bit and the helmet kept hitting the back of the collar and messing up my vision since the belt was a little higher than originally planned. But very happy with the entire suit just a little bit of modifying.
The shield is still torn apart so I couldn't get any pictures or it with the suit just yet. Anyway what do you all think?
The shield
Thanks man, I'm on track to have it completely finished before civil war opens.
Excuse my attire, I adjusted the thighs and I'm much happier with them. I can actually sit down now lol. This completes the suit entirely.
Also started work on the leather part of the shield. The first strap took a little bit to figure out but the others are going very quick. I also made a new star that I'll be jb wielding on.
All finished. I put the final touches with the air brush this past weekend and very happy with how it all turned out.
I will have to do a suit up soon and I hope to wear this to the civil war premiere.
The shield is almost finished as well, only thing left is two leather straps and I'm waiting on some buckles to arrive to complete it.
So I completed the leather work. Not the most elaborate setup but I'm very happy with it. Fits nice and snug.
.
I didn't plan it this way but it worked out perfectly, the leather strap fits right between the gauntlet straps and holds great!
This wraps up the final piece of the suit. It's 100% completed. If I have time tonight I'll try and do a suit up if not if will be soon. Thanks for looking.
It's been awhile since I've posted but I did a little modifying on my armor.
I made two new shoulders so I could move easier and new helmet. I went with the marvel now design. I still have to do the airbrushing but should be finished soon.
I also worked on the chest piece and shaved off the top angles and cut the side loose so it fits better.
I'm headed to my first comic con in Baltimore in a few weeks and plan on wearing it there. Thanks for looking I'll try and get a full suit up with everything after the airbrushing is complete.
Thank you. The gauntlets were a free file from the foam cave. It's the basic forearm file and I modified the top parts with my own design. The shoulders were modified from smp designs shoulder template on his page. The thigh guards were a custom template I made, if i still have it floating around I'll upload it.
Battle damage and airbrushing is finished. Even put a coat of clear on it.
Once it's all dry and the smells are gone I'll try them on with the armor to make sure everything fits then all done again lol. I don't think I'll be changing anything else. Except maybe adding a magnet harness so I can clip my shield to my back.
Full suit up minus the shins because I don't have a full mirror lol. I'm all ready for Baltimore comic con.
Very happy with the new shoulders and helmet. I've started lifting trying to get into shape and was surprise at how snug it was to put on. But a good fit. Let me know what you guys thing. Thanks for looking.
Here are a few pictures from Baltimore comic con. I entered the contest and didn't place but met some great people and had a blast. I even met a Peggy cater there and took a few pictures. All in all very happy with my suit, I'll be making a few modifications but it held up great.
Thanks for looking
With some help and advice from a fellow cosplayer I Want to share with everyone the redesign I did. To the armor and helmet.
Here you can see the difference is the chest curve the old one was way to flat.
I took a ton of progress pictures but the mobile app is being a pain and not letting me load them all.if I get it to work I'll try and load them all.
Here's a few of the completed suit.
Not in a class setting if that's what you mean. I've just learned through trial and error, with lots of errors lol. Oh and I watch a lot of YouTube to try and learn new technique.
You can, but it won't flex very well and will crack under pressure and can mess up your paint job. You can also using plasticdip if you just want to seal it and keep it flexible but it'll still wrinkle. I'm going to be using flexbond with my new suit. This one was harden with about three coats of wood glue which worked really well for hardening it up.
