After finishing my first captain America armor and not 100 percent liking everything I did, I've decided to make a version 2 of the suit. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434305839.668779.jpg

With the first suit I went off of a concept design, I've decided to use my own this time around. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434305974.649221.jpg
I modified my old templates from my last build to create the new ones. So far I've only had time to create the chest. This will be a slow process with not having a lot of free time. But let me know what you think. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434306082.982264.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1434306090.932518.jpg
Hopefully will make this picture heavy but I'm bad about taking pics. Thanks for looking.

I made a lot of progress on the back armor and even managed to fit the two peaces together for a test fit. Liking it so far still, a long ways to go. The back needs a star and some more detail.

I also have been playing around with a helmet design. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437185876.401930.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437185885.084156.jpg

I want to give the have a go hero a shout out for giving me the inspiration to do this design. If your on therpf, thanks man! Hope to have more pictures and progress up this weekend. Thanks for looking!

The back detail is almost finished. I'm working in the body connectors now and hope to have the chest and back ready for sealing soon.

The front and back are complete just have to attach the buckles and either use Velcro or magnets to secure the shoulder straps.

That's an interesting take on the helmet.

I'd like to see how that ends up turning out.

Really cool design. I like the helmet, it kind of reminds me of the Dawn of Justice Batman armored cowl. What is the color scheme going to look like?

Thank you. I'm thinking about going with the dark blue, red, and silver. With brown gauntlets and shins.

Hit a small snag with the side of the armor but after some head scratching I worked it out. Still have to finish the buckle side but it's almost finished. Will try and do a suit up with the helmet soon.

Ok I promise to load more pictures of the armor and not just the helmet soon. the helmet is finished except for the wings which I can't figure out a design I like :/. The A is just pinned on it'll be made permanent after paint. I also started drawing up a template for the shoulder armor but not 100 percent done with them yet. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1438981406.714930.jpg .
Also I'm not sure if I want to add a collar to the chest piece or leave it without.

Looking good. The shoulder design is very nice. Also, I think a collar would suit the chest piece very nicely.

Well the updates will slow down a little bit, our scones child was born Tuesday morning so now it's craziness at the house. But I managed to get in a little work. I made the collars frame and I'm working on the collar now. I'm worried it looks too thick, any thoughts?
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1439823264.451695.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1439823274.466384.jpg
It's not attached yet just placed inside.

I also downloaded the batman gauntlet file from the foam cave and I'm working on modifying it to fit my needs. If you haven't check the foam cave out well worth it they have a lot of good stuff there. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1439823365.271182.jpg
    Anyway that's all for now.

Well stayed up way to late and will pay for it tomorrow but the chest peace is finally finished in my eyes. I added a low profile collar so it wouldn't interfere with me turning my head in the suit with the helmet on. As a side note I made the hole a bit small and got my head stuck trying to get it off.

Also started working on some wings for the helmet. It's a very rough template but I liked the look of the captain America square enixs helmet wings so trying to use a bit of that as a reference. Thanks Spartacus1 for the link .

That's all for now hope to get the wings done and start on the gauntlets by this weekend.

Good deal. Thank you, I really like the collar now except for getting it on and off but I plan on using a dermal to try and thin it out a little. The wings turned out better than I was expecting just have to paint them and figure out if where I have them placed is where I want them. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1439999466.613199.jpg

Awesome man! You have inspired me to make a Cap armor as well, but I will be going with a more classic comic style with a modern flair. I want to get some of the Jack Kirby feel and something like the "scale mail" armor that he is known for while bringing it into the 21st century.

Thanks! I've seen that picture before it is really cool. I am thinking I might use carbon fiber for the "scale mail" look. Like I said before I want to get the classic look but for this generation.

That would look really cool especially with the carbon fiber.

Well after much thought I managed to get a gauntlet design I liked. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440276150.061370.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440276156.541172.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440276164.041177.jpg

I'm contemplating making the second a bit different but haven't decided if I want to do that or not. Once the gauntlets are done I plan on moving on to the belt before tackling the thigh and shin armor pieces.
Anyway let me know what you think of the gauntlets the color scheme will be brown with silver and battle damage.

Thanks. I love the design of the gauntlet. Maybe if you make a different design for the other gauntlet you could make it have a mechanism for holding the shield.

I dont want to get off topic, but it occurs to me, looking at this thread, and seeing that Captain America has a new suit...
    IronMan has a new Suit...
Thor changes it up a little...

Is Spiderman the Only person that doesnt get new suits, or what???

That's a great idea with the gauntlet. It would really work well since I've been thinking about making a new shield I have a metal one i made last year but it's not my best work or is it the lightest, I would like to be able to attach it to the back of the armor so I feel foam would've the easy route to take.

Made a different shield gauntlet for my right arm. (Thanks captain Rogers for the idea.) will be adding a lot more detail to it and also making some of the magnets that cap had in age of ultron to go on the glove.

Here is a shot of the upper full upper body I strapped the shoulders but will need to adjust them down lower the other side wasn't fully dry and fell off so that's why I'm only showing one side at the moment.

Started working on the shin templates haven't decided if I want thigh armor but will probably end up making them. I'm torn on the belt not sure if I want to buy the foam cave template or make my own design. But anyway here is a picture of the shin template.

Couple of updates, I've started the shins and so far there turning out the way I want.
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440876692.268416.jpg
Should be able to start detailing the fronts soon. I still have to cut out the backs but I haven't decided on the thickness of foam to use.

The next update is on the new shield. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440876760.895963.jpg
I found an instructable on making foam shields. Started off by getting a perfect circle and will start adding detail to that soon. It will be about an inch smaller than my metal one but will be much easy to carry on my back and should allow me to put magnets directly in the suit and on the shield.
