captain america aluminum shield build try #8??!

I wouldn't be upset about the paint shops wanting to see it in person. They want to see it to see what sort of surface finish it has, if it needs to be cleaned, how it needs to be masked, etc... all these things effect costs.

I went to several local shops, shield in hand to get quotes. Make it much easier, and has a good wow factor too.

On the repainting, I'm on attempt number 3. The blue looks perfect, but the grooves and the red I just can't get right. I'm going to keep at it.

Good luck rogue, I'm sure we'll both get there in time.

Thanks man, I can't wait til this is finished either (although I'm likely to be a glutten for punishment and do another down the road since this one only has the 8in center). Anyway, I'm waiting on my star from valor and once I've welded that ill find out the damage on the clear. Hey chewie, if you use the duplicolor I think mine looks more of a gloss finish, but I'm no expert in paints, if you wanna know the different finishes of the types of paints other folks use, ask chris or valor

Hey thanks for the offer on the the star reididtenroc, I don't know if you could email it to me, but I could definitely give it a try.

hey, on that 2k clear, can you get it at any autoparts store? Let me know how it turns out for you, I tried duplicolor clear earlier and wasn't impressed, it came out of the can unevenly and dripped all over the place.

Here are a coule more pics of mine with my attempt at a star (not the one I'm gonna use though, it looks decent at a distance but crappy up close).

Sorry, I thought I sent the pics, must have glitched. I'm trying to send them from my phone but its not letting me attach the pics.
