Captain America Airsoft Movie Style Shield

Captain Bucky, the airsoft shield is a great combination of flex and durability without the cost of aluminum, plus everything is held together with hot glue.

It should be easy to find on TheRPF, one was modified to hang off the back buckle so you don't need additional straps.

I'm really happy with mine. It has held up and don't have to worry about such an expensive prop.

Thanks for the comments but is it more hard hitting or feel solid. like take a hit. im trying to get a good one that is pretty hard and solid or feels really sturdy not a whole lot of flex where i can bend it with my hands.

The only thing more solid would be an aluminum shield.
It has good flex but not floppy, as the steel or disguise cosplay, and will not shatter like a pure fiberglass shield.

It all depends on how hard you intend to hit it and with what..... I think If I hit the shield with my Mjölnir... the hammer's handle would break and just have a scuff on the shield.

My goal was to have an inexpensive durable shield that wouldn't hurt anyone if hit by it but still look like the movie shield.

Does anyone know the weight of this shield? I want to paint it in the blue color scheme seen in Winter Soldier, and attach it to the big back buckle on Cap's leather shoulder harness as seen in that film.

I've got a completed aluminum shield that is WAY too heavy. I am planning to paint one of the thin plastic shield toy shields to carry on my back from the harness, since it is so lightweight. But I wondered if this shield might be a better candidate. The weight is the critical factor.

Thanks!

The unpainted shield with the new bracket and straps weighs 4.6 lbs.

This has shield was used as a replacement for the toy shield back bracket method. I try to find the build since I just use longer 'insert' straps.

do you have a link for buying this shield? i'd die for one, since i don't have the most money and don't want a metal one

HypeVince, The base unpainted shield by Cat Toys doesn't seem to be on the market anymore and replaced by these pre-painted versions.

Above is just an example. They are all over Alibaba and Aliexpress just search for 1:1 Captain America Shield. The stock straps would need to be replaced with leather but the "how to" and parts list are listed above.

GrayMatter purchased the pre-paint and was really happy with it.

Edit:
Found an unpainted version.

Captain Bucky, This should show how durable the airsoft shield is.... about 240 lbs and a building with the shield in-between. Some lost paint, red only, and a single scratch.

Think it will survive.

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but is no one going to ask why you were dangling from a building dressed as Cap?
