Can you help identify the ROTJ Stormtrooper/Fett Hard Hat Liner?

Here is a ESB helmet used in ROTJ the Ewoks are playing drums on it at the end of the film :p

Actually thats not an ESB helmet. I can exclusively reveal that it was a bespoke one-off helmet made for RotJ in 1982, produced specifically to LOOK LIKE an ESB helmet - merely to throw anally retentive fans like us off the scent. Its actualy made of sculpted cheese - Wensleydale I think.

Cheers

Jez, I have to say that helmet looks much more like Caerphilly to me than Wensleydale.

You have to look 'Caerphilly' at screengrabs to spot these things..

:)

...anyway, I knew there was something sensible I wanted to ask! This apparently is TE wearing his ROTJ helmet, is this the one he originally moulded?

Despite the bitching, this is a good thread....both the hatliner and ROTJ TK spin-off!:) We haven't had a good Trooper thread romp in a while!

I'm starting to have more of an appreciation for the ROTJ stuff...ROTJ Vader now really appeals to me, love that showroom shine!

The helmet is the original Jedi helmet that Matt copied from the outside.

Any on topic posts?

Joe

Any info on the helmet above or more photos?
Oh yeah and any luck on the hard hat liner?

Keith.

I have stumbled across 5 x 70's Era Fire Safety hardhats, my father is a retired Fire Chief and they have been sat in the roof of his house for the last 20 years, I am heading over there tomorrow to have a better look.

Having just had a quick talk with my Father he remembers the brand name Bullards, one quick eBay search later and I found one, heres a photo, not exact but I think heading in the right direction

Joe,

I have been searching quite a bit and got close but no banana.

One thing that may help in searching is they are not normally called hard hat liners a liner appears to be like a head padding for winter.

The style you have is more commonly called a hard hat suspension and on most site are categorised as hard hat accessories.

The style in the ROTJ helmet is a 'six point suspension' and it is a 'pin lock' style (more modern ones have a ratchet system).

Cheers Chris

Nice find.
You can still get the Bullard product.
Here is the website: http://www.bullard.com/V3/products/head_face/Head_Protection/accessories/#Replacement Suspensions

The pinlock six point is still available as an option but it does not look quite right based on the photo they have.

I had been looking at military helmets as they also have the six point suspension, but I have not found a match that direction either.

Good point Chris about the pinlock and six point suspension, good points for those that are looking.:cool

Thanks fellas. Now we are getting somewhere.

I wonder if it was a butchered liner or whether it came as standard like that.

Forgot to mention sweatbands are also available like the front piece of the padding. I have seen nothing like the one you have with the foam all the way round. Is it possible that piece is added?

Cheers Chris

I dont think the foam was a later addition as it seems to appear in every pic of every bucket using this liner so unless they did the same to all the stormie & the fett helmets im guessing it was original. :confused
