Can use some help with this Star Trek item

Hey Guys,

my next undertaking is Phlox's medical scanner from Enterprise. Some members here have provided me with detailed photos of it which I am eternally greatful for. I was curious if anyone ever tackle this item, or if it looked like any found items?

If all else fails, I may need to build it from scratch.

I did start making one of these about 2 years ago based on detailed shots of the actual prop.

I made a mould and planned to make a kit but abandoned the project.
I've moved to a new flat and don't have the space to work on anything this complex anymore.

Good luck with yours, I hope you manage to get yours finished, unlike me.

OH MAN, THAT IS AWESOME! This piece has been on my wishlist for years and has been a personal quest of mine. With my minimal skill, any personal attempt will fall FAR below your effort. That is great and I am sorry the planned kit fell through. IF you need someone to carry your torch and take those beatiful pieces from you, shoot me a PM! I'd even pitch in for scraps!

At the very least, I hope this thread ignites your interest to finish yours man. That is way cool. I would appreciate any guidance you can offer.

I would love to get this going again, but sadly space is an issue and lately so is time.
Mine was scratch built from 3mm thick styrene sheet, I cut multiple copies of the same capsule shape, and glued them on top of each other to form the basic shape which was sanded and shaped. Then I added the outer detail like the banding once I had shaped the capsule to the right dimensions. The base piece where the 5 LEDs are inserted was constructed the same way.

I have a thought on the real world item theory even though I'd venture a guess that they are scratch built... what are the dimensions? Even rough ones?

With the budget they had on Enterprise, I seriously doubt it was scratch built.
What's the scale of it? If I remember, I will ask around...

He means a lint remover, although i don't think it is one if it is a found item.

The bottom of this thing really looks like part of a found item to me.
