Can someone please tell me why I can't edit?

Hmm well thats a puzzle. You should be able to edit you own posts. Can you see the edit "" button on your posts?

Did you try clearing our your browser cache and cookies? Also try changing the forum theme to see if that makes a difference.

Yep I've tried it all!!!

There is absolutely no edit button whatsoever anymore. Very frustrating, as I need to edit something.

Mods???

Do the following if you want to edit the post right now without an edit button.

Put your cursor over the thread post number of the post that you want to edit (upper right corner of the actual post that you want to edit, it shows with the "#" sign and a number).

right click and select "copy link location" or "copy shortcut" if you use IE

do a paste in the url box of you browser

you should see this address (but the 6 numbers after ?p= and the &postcount number will be different)

change that url to the following; the numbers after &p= should be the same as your original 6 numbers after ?p= from above

**DON'T pay any attention to the first " that I had to put in the examples, I had to add them because that is the only way to get them to show up without becoming live links in the post.

Hey King, is there any way you could take a screen cap of one of your posts? and post it here. I'm wondering what else might be missing from the page.

Hi guys. So it appears that I get this message.

vBulletin Message
KingNothing, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

THE MODS HAVE BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT??!?!!? I have never been so furious!!!! I really hope they post a damn good explanation for not allowing me to EDIT my OWN POSTS!!!!!!!!

Which MOD did you actually talk to about this? Because I have NEVER had an issue that a MOD wouldn't help me with.

Which MOD is helping you on this issue, truly?

Just out of curiosity, is the post that you are unable to edit in the Junkyard? Are you able to edit posts in other forums (like the posts in this thread for example)?

No its everywhere. Even this thread. I will be PMing some mods once I find out who they are. There is no more staff bio list. I had emailed another mod in the middle of September about an issue of a member here threatening me and never heard a follow up. But don't you think I should have been told that I can't edit? It just really irks me being treated like a criminal without a trial.

That's the end of what I have to say. Mods you can lock this thread.

Don't panic until you have a MOD that will help you.

I once was NOT getting any PM messages at all. From anyone.

I got that fixed. Surely you can speak to a MOD and get help.

:)

Best of luck to you

"The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters."

The above message appears when I try to post using the "reply" button. That message was copied after I tried to your last message.
But comp savvy me uses "fastreply" to post this message here.

PM´s only produce empty messages.

I´m using FireFox Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; de; rv:1.9.0.3) Gecko/2008092417 Firefox/3.0.3 .

Okay, tried three times to edit the above message, no.1 with a preview, no.2 without a preview, no.3 by hand using the url workaround. no results, unfortunately :-\

I guess it´s FireFox 3.0.3 :(

FireFox 3.0.3 isn't the problem because that is what I am using. You should try IE on the same computer so that we can at least see if it will work with a different browser.

Testreply with IE : worked

And an EDIT again

That makes me think that something is messing up Firefox. Are you sure that you cleared out all of the cookies and cache? Also, have you installed any plug-ins/add-ons recently that might be causing a problem? One other thing, did you try different themes (The RPF Standard, Star Wars, etc.)?
