I'm probably going to be the only one to post something like this, and it might make a few people turn up their noses, but I have some advice on how to get help with your needs.

First, try a more descriptive thread title. Something like "Questions about using clear resin" or something like that.

Second, in your thread, please use reasonable grammar. From experience, I can tell you that many forum members are less likely to respond to a post when it is difficult/annoying to read. Use proper capitalization and punctuation. That basically means use periods, and capital letters. Oh, and run the spell check. It's also usually a good idea to read your post over once before hitting the "Submit Reply" button. This allows you to find errors.

Third, the search feature on the RPF is your friend. Search for "mold making tutorials" or "casting tutorial" or things like that. You'll probably get a few hits.

Fourth, if that fails, you can try googling for similar topics. There are TONS of websites online that have thorough and well written tutorials on everything from sculpting, casting, and mold making. It's all out there, you just need to dig a bit.

Probably not the answers you were looking for, but I hope they will come in handy in the future. I assure you that other forum members will appreciate your efforts.

Sage advice Mr. Munson, sage advice.

But, in order to shed some light on the question at hand...........
How much experience do you have in silicone mold making and resin casting?
Having some experience in clear casting, and the mental anguish to go along with it, Ill advise that its not quite as simple as it looks.

1 - Clear resin works best in a platinum cured silicone mold. Regular silicon is typically a tin cured mixture. Clear resin will not set-up properly using this.

2 - If you're not careful on the mixture of resin to catylist, you can "burn" the resin and it will come out yellow looking rather than clear.

3 - If possible, de-gas your resin in a vacuum chamber before you pour it, and having it cure under pressure in a pressure chamber can't hurt either. This will go a long way to reducing the visible air bubbles in your cast.

These are only a few tips. Like I said b4. If you're not familier with casting basics, practice with the cheaper non clear materials before you try the clear. And by all means search the web for ideas like Matt suggested. He's been here a long time and speaks from experience.
