Burt's Soldier 76 and Plague Doctor Reaper

Thank you so much for your interest! It means a lot! Unfortunately, those masks are spoken for, but I'm working on getting more listed. I really hate saying no to people, but I don't want to say 'yes' to everyone then end up getting stuck with more commissions than I can handle (not a bad problem to have, right! haha!) I prefer to get these to folks in a reasonable amount of time so you don't have to wait so long :)

If you favorite my shop on Etsy here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ProjectProps

Etsy will notify you when I get more listed.

Not a problem, I will favorite your shop. Was thinking maybe pushing to get things together for Comikaze but then thought, nah, WonderCon in March works. Buying a mask, and such a perfect one, would save precious fabrication time. . .

She's finished! Painted with Rustoleum rattle cans. Smokey beige and satin espresso for the colors. Black mesh for the eyes and green leds. Leather straps to attach to my noggin!

Here's the mask in action!

The 'smoke' is just from my e-cig, I took a big whiff for the video. I'm thinking of rigging some tubing into the nose (I have holes drilled for smoke to come out). Or maybe just have a tube set up from my ecig to my mouth, for easy access and hold my ecig in my hand/have it in my pocket.

Updates!

I colored my hair. My friend is a hair stylist and was nice enough to do this for me. We could only do one coloring, as I didn't want to fry my hair. We're going to try and go lighter at the end of August. This is cool for now though!

I started working on the Soldier 76 gun. I plan to have this done by next weekend for Tampa Bay Comic Con.

I'm hoping my jacket will arrive in time, otherwise I'm doing a more casual costume (which is fine.. since its going to be really really hot out any way)

Wow that looks good, makes me question my PVC frame idea. . .but I'm sticking with it, though I'll be building out with EVA mat and 1/8" Sintra. Nothing glued together, just got the pieces cut. Thinking about the LED element, not much experience there but know there are options galore

Still going to use an energy drink can for the . . laser/optic pod on the bottom. Formed a lens from a piece of plexi, and yes, that is a champagne bottle punt I used to get the shape. We do things in style around my evil lair. . .eh, house. . .

Well, I finished my build. My jacket came in time, although it is very small. I ordered a women's large and its very tight.
Regardless of the jacket issue, I'm quite happy with the whole costume. Once the jacket is taken care of, it will be a very comfortable costume.

These pics are just from a test fit, I hope to get better pictures soon. (all three arm healy cans are there, just a weird angle)

Here's a video of the lights on the gun :)

Sorry I didn't respond to your post!

Keep at it! I didn't think my gun would come out good at all... just keep playing with it and eventually it will look like its supposed to!

I used a water bottle for my grenade launcher dealy. As long as no one squeezes it, or I don't hit it against a wall, we're A-OK! lol. I used simple El wire for my lighting. It was something I bought long ago for a project and never used. Its a battery pack that connects 5 lines of the el wire. I only used 4 of the lines, so I have an extra plug in if I want to do another string of lights.

Shoulders are finished

I also finished a set of guns. Although, these are for the Nevermore version. I figured I'd share any way.

Bracers are being worked on now. Magnets being installed in each for a perfect fit.

More to come and sorry for not updating more! I do a lot more updating over on Instagram, simply because its easier.

I had to redo my mask for 2 reasons. One, my favorite singer in the WHOLE WORLD signed my mask when I went to a concert recently. I ran into him before the show and got to talk to him a bit! I've been a fan of Anthony Green of Circa Survive since I was in Highschool (over a decade at this point!). its literally the only band I like lol. My favorite singer signed my favorite mask, so its too special to take to cons now.

Reason #2. You can tell by the second picture that the mask is a bit big. I resized the new mask to be 10% smaller and its perfect now. I also did a better paint job.

This second mask is also just better built. I hate redoing projects, but every time I revisit something, I can really see how much improvement I've made even in such a short time. I was able to find some plastic grating for the eyes, so the eyes are durable (the first mask, the eyes are fishnet leggings that I cut and glued in)

M3EgrBE.jpg

Here's the inside of the mask. The plastic grate was some kind of hook for socks or something. I was going to use it for something on Master Chief but never did. I cut it in half, heated with heat gun, and warped to fit the curve of the mask for a perfect fit.
Glued the LEDs to the grate with both super glue and hot glue. I used some black foam to curve around the LEDs so it won't hit my eyes and I can see out of the mask. (I can see GRATE! No but really, its not bad at all lol)

2 LEDs are wired up to a battery holder that holds two 3v cell batteries.
The shoulders are wired the same way.

I found a jacket today. Its almost perfect (and floor length!). Please ignore the ribcage thats not part of the costume

, I've got a skeleton mannequin I used for the model. (bought it back in college 5 years ago for an art class.. he's been sitting in my closet since! (hehe) finally have some kind of use for the fella!)

More to come!
