Building The Death Star - PRODUCTION

DUDE! Rob! Step away. It is perfect!!! Here is a comparison that I did using your pics. I sized the edges of the DS to exactly the same width. Your dish is spot on!!

Just wait until he gets to, "Guys, should I have drilled 83,487 windows or 83,486? Should I paint over one?" ;)

Seriously, Rob, it's looking perfect and amazing!

Fortunately for Rob, He will only have to do half of the windows, as I have volunteered my services.

Good man. I'd have offered too if I weren't 3000 miles away.

Heh, but if Rob wants to buy me a plane ticket to sunny CA, that's worth drilling a few thousand holes. :)

Yeah, Rob's buying the beer and pizza. I have a feeling if we get to drilling the holes too far into the beer it may turn out like this!!!...

Thrift Store tomorrow.
Murenwear to follow.

There's a rhyming couplet for you.
Would anyone like a peanut?
Laffo.

I think the date has been set for the drilling of the "windows" to either Feb 22nd or Mar 1st... Rob chime in here.

Brad... Yes, and no...! ;)

On for the dates; yes. But you're way optimistic to think we'll be drilling windows! Sanding primer, laying a base coat, maybe some entry level masking - that's more in line with where I'll be in a couple of weeks! ;)

In the mean time, here's some more eye candy...

Have been worried about if the dish is deep enough (what haven't I worried about!?). Well - I caught the model in the late afternoon sun with a beautiful shadow, and now am not so concerned...

This thing is just cool beyond words.

The downside?
We have these mirrored, 3 foot diameter half spheres at work that hang over head at intersections that allow foot and motor traffic to see all 4 approaches for oncoming traffic.

Now, thanks to your impressive build, every time I look at one, I think,
"Gee, if I could sign a pair of those out, maybe damaged or sumpthin', I could build my own giant Death Star..."

Fortunately, at least to this point, I haven't actually forgotten to check for approaching fork trucks.
