Building the 4' Star Destroyer

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Thank you Juilen~

Unfortunately, I have no any special tools and just cut it by manual working with acrylic knife.

thanks Eric.

That's impressive !

I think scribbing the acrylic gives better (sharper) results than scribbing styrene.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Julien,

I'm always thinking that the scribbing is the most difficult work in the modeling work. :cry
Do you use any tools to scribe?

thanks Eric.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

No thats why my scribbing job is so bad ! I have not bought any scribbing tool yet...

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Julien,

I don't agree with your thinking for the scribbing on 8' SD. :)
I will follow Rick's method to scribe on my Devastator.

thanks Eric.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Looking FANTASTIC, Eric! I'm happy you are making this model all you want it to be!

Good luck with the scribing. I know it is not fun, but when finished, the results are worth the hard work.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Thanks Friends~

Now, I'm scribing uncountible panel lines on the hull.
Although I need hard work for few weeks, it will make a valuable result as Rick said.

thanks Eric.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Today, I did scribe some panel line on the upper hull, port side and the bridge~

I have to respect some persons who did scribe the panel line work on their model.
Actullay, I experience hard work of a hell.:cry I don't like this work.

thanks Eric.

You're doing a great job, Eric, keep it up! Just think of it as a series of small steps, and not as one huge mountain. Before you know it, you will be finished.

It's looking good, my friend!

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Yes, it looks like a pain to make the scribe lines, but it has no time limit. I guess you could take as much time as you want! Looks great! I haven't scribed much, but yes, this really looks like a lot of work!

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Really amazing work Sir! You can tell your passionate about the ship!

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Thanks Rick~

Currently, I'm trying to find the proper brass square channel.
I wonder if you used 1/8" square channel w/ 0.022 thickness?

thanks Eric.

Thanks Scott & Captain Han Solo~

Yep. I will do my best on the panel line with my time.

thanks Eric.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

It's a testament to how good the original design is, as well as how well this is coming along, that a not-close-to-finished version still blows me away.

This is shaping up to be amazing.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Thanks my friends for your kind words :)

Today, the superstructure w/ the bridge is done and also, I coated the primer on the right side of hull in order to check the scribed panel lines.

thanks Eric.
