Building my own Macrobinoculars

Well, I destroyed the sidepanel of the camera. I used a pair of pliers (and brute force) to break it into bits and pieces. But be carefull not to damage the knobs though.

Hahaha I was afraid you were gonna say that!

Any tips for taking apart the large Seagull knob?

I actually figured out that if you lift the knobs and grab the post with some pliers they actually unscrew easily.

I also figured out the large knob.

Could this be the infamous black box we are looking for?

A Kalimar(!) Strobe-A Flash

There are some distinctive markings on that black box I don't think this has any of those?

Yes, but doesn't reveal much detail. Doesn't help that the deleted scenes are in a poor resolution either.
Nightmare, that could be anything. Not sure enlarging the picture has helped, wasn't this one of the deleted scenes in the film, released on the Blu-ray disc???

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

Looking great. How did you get your knobs and focus dial off the Seagull. I am having a bit of trouble....ugh. And what is the secret of mounting them on. I know the two Seagulls go on the transition plate and the dial goes on the side but how are you mounting them?

Thanks,

G-man

Got the Seagull camera this week. Started stripping the camera for parts. Unfortunately the little transparent plastic cover from the focusing knob broke so if anyone has a spare one (does the one from the Kalimar fit?) please let me know.

The Bell & Howell two twenty should be arriving soon so I can place the dial in the focusing knob.

How did you get the large Focus dial off. I unscrewed everything I could find in it and even pullled but no budging. Any tips.

That is what i was thinking Marv, in the end i used 2 sets of Kalimar knobs on the Hero and Seagull knobs on the side of the stunt and Yashica D's on the stunt macro box.
