Buffy the Vampire Slayer:The Master's Skull

Some of you may know that I'm a HUGE fan of the series and this is a piece I've been working on for a number of years. Why so long you might ask?
I found it a bit odd to be sculpting on a real human skull and the way's in which it reacted to the Super-Sculpey I was using on it.
Suffice it to say though, it survived the sculpting and molding process and I now have a piece that I'm pretty pleased to finally be able to add to my Buffy collection...enjoy!

Nice. Not looking very friendly. .)

Can't imagine how it must be to work on a real skull... but if you plan on doing another such sculpt, try switching to magic sculpt that is a self-hardening two-part resin or another self-hardening sculpting medium, so you don't have to bake it and the real bone next time.

Just an idea.

Thanks guy's.
The reason I liked Super-Sculpey for this was that not only is it workable after it's hardened but it pops right off when the whole thing is taken out of the mold. I didn't want it to permanently adhere to the skull and thusly ruin it for future sculpts. I've found that if you bake Super- Sculpey at low temps (150-200) for periods of 15-30 minutes that it's easier to work with and you can add more later on if need be.
Anyway, here are a couple of good pics of two screen used Master Skulls for comparison.
I left mine a bit more detailed as I just couldn't bring myself to hammer the crap out of it like they did for the show.

Wow, you used a real skull as the base? That's cool in it's own right.

Did you pick one up specifically for this project, or did you have one on hand already?

Thanks Bob!
I have two that were given to me by my friend and make-up teacher, Shawn McEnroe.
He got them back when he worked for Rick Baker and was working on GreyStoke I believe.
