Done / Completed BTTF - "Blast from the Past" plastic bags - second run

Ask Roland if it's screen accurate ? Roland just provides the best :p

I know. I have almost all his replicas (if not every one), but I still want confirmation about size, if the real prop had those plastics, etc. That's all, because the description is incomplete to my eyes.

love a set of docs binoculars in my collection Roland hint hint, I know your great with your Perspex and vinyl, I think you would do a great! :)

if not Roland, maybe Sarednab will tackle it after the ez sleep :p

ive wanted binoculars as well. Never seen a run before

Spiderstella, halliwax and EmmaInCandyland

I want them, too! :D I guess Sarednab is actually the better guy for props like this. I'm offering replicas made of acrylic, but it's usually flat acrylic with a simple shape. I don't know if I would be able to make complex acrylic props like those binoculars.

I'll definitely be picking one of these and the Biff checks up in a few weeks.

Yes wanted this for ages Roland :) I will be buying 2 come pay day :thumbsup
LTsmash1200 and shoxxo

Thanks for your interests! :)

Funds sent. Can't wait!
jhk1976 and Luke0312

Thanks for your payments! :)

Hi @Roland , I may purchase this replica 99% sure, but I was wondering if you can tell us more information about it. If the size of the bag and the logo is screen accurate, if the real prop had those black plastics to make the handle stronger, and if the iridescent material is very similar to the original prop.

Also, my vote for his next replica goes to the 80's Cafe menu sheet. Always wanted that and it may be an easy one if made in vinyl or plastified/laminated sheets.

I may order the bag some days later ;-)

In my original post I posted a link to my tutorial. I thought the informations in that tutorial are sufficient enough. But you're right, I will update my post. ;) Here are the answers to your questions.

At first you should know, screen accuracy is very important to me, depending on informations (from item descriptions in auctions for example) that I can get. That includes correct dimensions, colors, position of parts of the prop, fonts (if there's some printed text) etc. But: I don't care much about prop accuracy! That means, my replicas could be made of completely different materials than the original props. For example: My oversized Biff check is printed vinyl on acrylic, the real prop is printed on cardboard. Or the orange color of my DeLorean license plates - it's an orange vinyl sticker instead of orange paint. Correct color, but different matarial.

My "Blast from the Past" bags have of course the correct dimensions of 9 inches x 15 inches. The logo and the triangular hole are 100% screen accurate in size and position. The original bag actually has a black glossy strip to make the handle stronger. You can see it in several scenes in the movie. Here are three screen caps:

screencap01.jpg screencap02.jpg screencap03.jpg

On the third picture, you can see that the strip has a bright border. That's why I printed a white paper sheet black and laminated it. I don't know if that's the correct material, but as I said: I don't care much about prop accuracy. ;)

My iridescent material is the only one that I was able to find here in Germany. I found it from two brands ("Folia" and "Heyda"), but their material is exactly the same. I guess it's made from the same (chinese?) factory. I have never seen the original bag in person, I just know it from pictures, and so I don't know if the iridescent material is the same as on my bags, but at least I know it's iridescent and not holographic. :)

To get an idea of the dimensions of my bag, here is another picture of it, together with Mark Poon's almanac and receipt:

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation, Roland . Great to see those screen captures, I never noticed on the movie those black strips on the handle. I've seen BTTF countless times, and every single time I see it, I learn or see something new :-D
Please add me for 1 bag. I'll PM you.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Roland. Any news on the bags? Aprox. shipping time, or some photos of the finished replicas? No hurry, because I know they're hand-made and take a lot of time, but just any update of the run would be nice. Thanks!!!

Just kidding! No, I had a lot of work. I would like to have more vacation. :lol The first 16 bags are almost finished. I will post some pics in the next few days. Thanks for your patience! :)

How are these coming along?

Sorry for the delay, guys. All the orders will be packed tomorrow and shipped the first day after Christmas (as soon as the post office opens again). So if you want to buy anything else from me for a combined shipping, today is your last chance. :)

Here are some preview pics. Have you ever seen so many "Blast from the Past" bags at once? :D

All bags have been shipped today. Please look at the first post of this thread for tracking informations. :)

They look awesome! :) glad your ok as I heard about the bombs being set off in Germany! Merry Christmas/happy holidays:)

No bombs, just a crazy truck driver, that drove into a crowd of people that visited a Christmas fair in Berlin. Fortunately Berlin is far away from me. I live next to Strasbourg at the french border. ;)
