BSG - If you can't buy it, make it!

I'd be intrested in some decals as well, color me intrested. :D As for the blue light...Am I the only one who thought Clone trooper forearm when I saw it? :p

I did think of that, but now seeing the wider pic from moff man I'm thinking trooper forearm with TIE pilot chest box! :)

This thread is amazing.
My girlfriend says she wants to get married in the Galactica's CIC. With this much detail paid to just a telephone... once this thread is finished, it may just happen!

Not to derail the prop discussion but I can't resist a chance to show off the Viper suits we made.

Everyone pictured, except Aaron Douglas, worked on the suits tirelessly for more than a year. We're pretty proud of it.

The screen used suits went for slightly more than it cost for us to replicate them.

Those are very awesome!!! Great job by all, wish my wife could sew cause i really don't wanna learn.

Thanks for the link.

Have to spend some time on that Wiki

Thanks! I was just thinking of using blank paper of that same color. The viper was found on the web then reversed, then I re-reversed the type, as lonepigeon said.

You (all) made them, so it fits right in. :)

I want to know about the banners in the background... Cost, time to make, etc...

Thanks,
Sean

Well, went to Office Max... Office Depot... Staples... nothing. :cry Now it's time to work on plan B and find some plexi to work with.

Here is an updated image next to the prop with the proportions corrected, for the most part.

Found my binder (I have a red one). Looks like I bought it at Office Max since I have it stored in a bag from there, still unused.
So I would start looking there.

The banners were made by "Hockey Puck" over at The Colonial Fleet

I have two myself, and they're great. :)

The flight manual's shaping up nicely!

I wanted to join over there to see about getting some banners but they make it too difficult. I don't have time to follow steps that require me to submit "paperwork."

Its just so that when members join they'll have something to contribute to the Quorum. I didn't find it that difficult at all, not to mention spending the few mins to do so deffintly out weighs the value of information available to a member there. IMHO, its the best BSG site out there.

Both of my TA-954/TT phones showed up today, and even came with their soft cases and straps.

The rubber key pad on one of the phones is bubbled out a good bit in the center, but the other is nice and flat. Any ideas how to get the bubbled one to flatten out? Would heat shrink it up, maybe?

I'll post pics when I get them home from the office.

I'm tearing mine down to minimize masking, and you can get the keypad off. Its held on by 6 bolts inside. Once you have it off, you could carefully peel back the sealing plastic and de-bubble it. Heat wouldn't do much I think, as I think the plastic itself is some kind of silicone.

I guess I should take pics of tearing one down . . . in case anyone else wants to.
