Hi all, title says it all. Looking to make a replica of the BSG Arrow of Apollo.

Internet search shows up a few pics, but not much else.

Anyone out there have any nice shots of this?

Better yet, anyone here lucky enough to have been the winning bidder for the real prop from the BSG auctions held a few years ago??

I can get nice shots of it from the DVD, but I'll only be guessing as to the details and length etc of the arrow.

Any info will be greatly appreciated. thanks

This was one I always wanted to make, but never was able to get around to it... Hoping you have better luck. ;-)

Thanks guys for these, but I've seen these photos. These are pretty much the only photos I can find on the internet. I was kinda hoping for some close ups of the details. There is some sort of writing on the shaft. I think I'll just have to 'wing' it with the details, and of course watch the DVD again....and again....

Anyone know what happened to the original? Last I know, it was at the BSG auction a few years ago. Anyone know who bought it? Hoping I can get some nice close up shots of this thing, particularly the 'writing' on the shaft.

according to the Propworx site the 41' metal arrow sold for $9,300 US and the 41" rubber stunt arrow sold for $3,960 US. Check this website for who wound up with it;

As for images, this is the result of my Google search, have at 'er old son.

Thanks for that bit of info, 19narvik40, I will try to find this guy and hopefully he may be nice enough to send me a few pics of the arrow. At least now I know the thing was 41 inches long, that's a start....Seeing that the arrow is mounted behind glass, he may be a bit hesitant to take it out to photograph all the little details I need. No harm in asking.....

Did you check out the Google images? Who knows. if you find enough of them maybe you can cobble something together.

There was one company I found in the Google results that made arrow replicas but they no longer have them. You might give them a quick note of inquiry as well. This is an old link (2007) but they may still have measurements and detail photos. http://www.sliceofscifi.com/2007/04/17/arrow-of-apollo-replicas-now-available-in-limited-quantity/
I dropped a note on their Facebook page so let's see what happens.

Yes, I checked out the google images, a few there I haven't seen before. And thanks for the sliceofscifi link. I shot them an email, so now all I can do is wait. Their replica was cast from the original, so hopefully they still have one available......if they do, I'll be a very happy man!!

Looks looks like we are both waiting on emails. Best of luck to you !!

Just received a reply. Unfortunately, the arrow is no longer available. (no surprise there)...So I shot 'em back another email requesting if they can send me some detail pics of the arrow. I'm still collating a pile of pics for reference material. Looks like I'm going to have to scratch build myself an arrow. Another project to do.....I think it will have to wait in line....too many projects, too little time....

As soon as I posted the above message, I checked my emails, and there was a reply. In short, "sorry, but we have no photos of the arrow" ....damn......google images is my friend.....

At least you got a reply,:unsure Guess they don't check their Facebook page that often. The arrow was on display in Seattle at the EMP Museum when they had the Battlestar Galactica display. Some of the Google images are from that display. Hopefully someone else will have posted on Flicker or one of the other online photo sites. I'll keep a weather eye out for more.
