Broken Tusk - Small Update, Pg 5, Post 105

The suit is awesome! Seeing stuff like this really inspires the newer preds on here to keep working on their builds. I hope I can get my eventual suit to look as sweet as yours!!! Looking forward to more updates! :D

Thanks guys. Still working on it and should be able to get some progress on the backplate tonight.

Doug, you did a great job on this build, suit looks awesome. Can't wait to see this suit in action on this years NYCC :)

Very serious work i have been working on a total custom suit also and i know all the work you have put into it and to put it on first time OOHH that feeling
NICE JOB !!

Thanks again for the comments guys, greatly appreciate them.

I wasn't going to update the thread until I did some more work [repaint the shin armor, add skulls to the shoulder armor and turn one into thight armor, maybe touch up the bio [I really like PredatrHuntr's recent paint up on the SS Berzerker Bio].

I painted up the other shoulder armor and added in damage. The original wanted to paint the armor similar to the predators armor, but I think I strayed a bit too far. I'm not sure on what to paint the battle damage [silver, etc...] so I went with gold [no clue why, not too crazy about it].

To me, the armor just look too brown and it doesn't show the layers like I wanted it too...

I would really appreciate your thoughts on the shoulder armor. :D

yeah man, that brown is a bit flat. it almost looks like it is just spray painted brown. im not too keen on the gold either.
you should think about what you think the armour is derived from. was it a scale of some kind of beast? if so then what would the color scheme be for it.

cheers man.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

@xdmray...... I'm still practicing on painting, layering, etc. I'm never really happy with my paintups. I was thinking of making it look like bone, base of white then a few washes.

I may repaint the head, just way too red with the brain (looks like the brain area anyway).

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with the bone color scheme with a series of brown and black washes to really pull the details out. For some reason it reminds me of a character you'd see on He Man, like Skeletor's ******* brother who was the black sheep and got kicked out of the family...

Small update.

Somewhat unsure of the direction I'm going with the suit build, but wanted to change a few things around. The alien skull ended up falling and busting so using that has come down to the face only.

I repainted the shredder shoulder armor to have a "bone" look to it but to have it look like the bone was just cleaned of meat and still had the blood stains on it.

I'm thinking of doing a full Tracker suit so I'm toying around with using the Mr. Black bio instead of the custom Tracker bio. I'd still want to repaint the bio, perhaps more of a copper tone, but unsure of what color to paint it. I don't think the black bio goes well with it like the custom tracker one did [not sure if that made sense of not?].

I'm going to add another strap on the left side of the torso and eventually pick up the net mines from made007, I think they would suit the charracter pretty well. I was considering doing some type of thigh armor on one side, but am unsure. I'm also going to add a viking style gauntlet for the left arm. Not a full length gauntlet, something short to cover the wrist section.
