Brian's Pred Suit... Updated Fanboy Expo Pics On Last Page.

Decided it was time to start my own little WIP for the suit I've been working on the last couple months. I've got just about all the materials and the time, so I'm really hoping to have this done in time for Halloween. This is my first WIP thread ever, and I'm a little cautious in starting it, because I'm not real good at keeping things up to date, but I'm gonna try. It all started with a P1 mask and bio I got from Termokk. I'm super happy with the quality and craftsmanship that he puts into his work, and the mask is a shining example of how good his work is. Bear in mind, this was my first time with an airbrush, and I've never touched a latex before, so it could be better, but over all I'm happy. I posted a thread when I started it http://www.thehunter...-in-first-post/ but will include some pics here as well. I hope this turns out to be a good time, and any/all advice or criticism is more than welcome. Thanks for checkin' it out, and stay tuned...

Awesome start man, that paint up is kick ass! Looking forward to following this thread. Keep them updates coming

Made a little progress on the blade gaunt today. The blades are carved out of a single piece of wood, and will be removable from the gaunt. Still need to finish the second blade and the top of the gauntlet. It's made from sintra, foamies, and wood. My plan is to make another one at a later date that's more accurate, but this will do for the time being...

Looks killer so far man.

I was just reading through your other post on the paint up and saw you were using FW inks, I should probably ask on that thread but if you don't mind- What colors did you use?

Other than the obvious white and black, I used red earth, sepia, raw sienna, burnt umber, and antelope brown. I thinned them with water, but I think I'm gonna use isopropyl alcohol when I start painting the suit. Thanks for the compliment!

This is the bio I got from Termokk the same time I got the mask. I got a good deal on it because it needed a little work, but fits the mask perfectly (plus I enjoy that kind of stuff). I sanded down the primer coat, and began the process of filling with body filler, paint, sand, repeat. After 4 times of repeating that process, I was happy and went on to the painting stage. I like that it's made out of fiberglass, makes it extremely light weight and easy to work on. Rare earth magnets were added in the top and lower mandibles of the mask, and matching magnets placed inside the bio. I'm amazed at how well this works...almost too well ;) I went with laser diodes instead of LED's, and used mesh behind the eyes. I'm satisfied with the results for my first go around...

Thanks everyone for the kind words...it keeps me motivated :p . Small update here. I got word last night that my dreads are on the way (THANKS Corey!!!), so it's time to get my butt in gear and finish my dread beads. These are the 4 styles I'll be using (sculpted, molded, and cast by yours truly). I've got about 60 done, and plan on making at least 30 of each so I have enough to mix and match and in case I don't like the way some of them look on the dreads. Casting them is rather boring and monotonous to me, so I'm anxious to get to the paint stage. The little cone looking things in the background are meant to be tips for some of the dreads. Not sure if I'll use then or not, but it gives me a place to use the extra monster cast instead of just dumping it out (I can't stand to waste anything lol). Thanks for looking!

Wow mate you have made an awesome job, look forward to seeing this over the mask, again well done !

The bio fits perfectly, but I'm not gonna post a pic until I have the dreads on it, which should be in a week of so :D . Thanks for the kind words!!!

Kick ass Brian, that some good looking beads you got there! Nice. Like the dread tips, gotta make some of them myself. Awesome stuff

Hey Brian, this is looking good. You are making good progress on each part. I saw in an earlier post that you liked the fact that the bio is made of fiberglass...is it made from mat or cloth? Can't wait to see it all together with the mask and dreads....

Hey Bonz, it's made from a few layers of cloth if I'm not mistaken. I would have to ask Termokk to know for sure.

HH, I'm not even sure I'm gonna use the tips, but I'll end up with quite a few anyway.

Thank you both, I'm having a ball. My skin is almost ready... I need to post some pics. I'll do it later when I have a little more time.

Heck use some, lol think they look the nutz.

And yes, you need to get those pictures up lol

I just realized that this thread seems to be jumping all over the place as far as any logical progression lol. I'm posting stuff as I work on it, so please forgive my lack of sticking to one subject... ooh look, a squirrel ...

I've been working on the suit the last week, and have had my share of set backs, but I think I have it worked out now. First thing to mention here is I'm a little vertically challenged at 5'6", 145 lbs (yeah, I've already heard all the "ha ha your gonna be a little short predator" comments I care to, so if ya wanna go there, stuff it!!! :D Anyway, I found a Captain America suit locally for cheap that sort of fit me, so I went for it. My wife had waaaayyyy too much fun making me into a duct tape mummy (wasn't fun) that I used to do some alterations on the suit. Here's where it's at so far. As you can see in one of the pics, it's now in 2 pieces (top and bottom) more like a true set of skins, because there were so many sags and wrinkles I wanted to cry. The torso section has 3 coats and will be finished up in a few days. I'll post pics once I start the legs, but this is where it stands so far. I also threw together this little neck bling (proudly displayed in front of my new score...a 1:1 facehugger, un-built, still in the box). The skull came from 007 (thanks Jose) and still needs painted. I'll keep posting as I see more squirrels!
