I don't think it was always a Goorin Hat. When I purchased the hat at the Goorin Bros during Comic Con I was told that the hat was used in the upcoming season according to an employee who worked there.
Strangely enough the BB crew members were given a Bailey Pork Pie Hat as a farewell gift, which may actually be the first hat used shown in season 1.

But then I could be wrong... :lol
 
So a whole bunch of screenused items from the show are now up for auction at Screenbid, and I noticed that the Los Pollos Hermanos air freshener that we see hanging in Gus' car in the Season 4 finale apparently does not have the LPH logo on both sides, as most of us assumed. This photo shows the previously unseen other side:

Well, the certificate is worded to suggest they have provided the hat for the whole series but it wouldn't be the first license-holder to claim such. Though, the Bailey is cheaper. It is possible they would use a cheaper hat to give as gifts vs. the pricier Goorin.

So I was watching the episode of Talking Bad with the actor that played Hank. On one of the blurbs in-between the chat it is said that Dean Norris kept a few mementos from the show including tuco's grill and the cousins axe unless I misunderstood.
It's interesting that in the Screenbid auction listings include both of these items.
I realize there are duplicates made for back up or whatever but screen used versus production made may be an important distinction if one was to shell out cash for a prop or at least how much cash one would want to shell out.
 
For any of y'all who bought the Goorin Heisenberg hat, is the brim of yours very hard/stiff? I notice that on the show, Walt's brim seems to be a lot more flappy/bendable than my Goorin hat. Also, his brim looks to lay a little flatter, while mine kind of curves up, like a bowl shape almost.
 
The Goorin hat is made from a higher quality felt (more dense). It's apparent that more than one type of hat may have been used. OR the costume team wore it down a little, making it softer.

After doing some extensive research I may have come up with some clues. :cool

Hmm is that Goorin Bros Logo??? :confused....Doesn't look like it....

Like I said earlier, when I went to the Heisenberg Hat party during SDCC an associate told me something similar.

Hmmm...Maybe the inside of the Goorin Hat looks just like the one shown in Season 1....not quite!
I still love the hat though!!! :D

I start to scratch my hat after reading "during" the BB series. Wait so was the hat used throughout the series or do you mean during the series as in the last season? :confused

Overall in my opinion the very first pork pie hat must have been a Bailey.

I will be purchasing a Bailey Pork Pie Hat in the future, hopefully by the end of this year. I'll keep you guys updated!!

you guys making the ricin vials should grind up grains of rice then you can say its got rice in :)

also i don't know if anyone is interested but the model of phone Saul uses (the hello kitty one) is Samsung Tocco S5230 Lite Hello Kitty i was watching one on ebay but have a feeling its going beyond what i want to pay

Hey everybody - I've gotten a lot of PM's in the past couple weeks - sorry things have been so hectic for me. I have the time to check in every once and a while on my phone but haven't had the chance to reply to a lot of you. I did my best, but if I didn't reply to a message from anyone, I apologize.

I have, however, gotten some pretty cool items from the past few episodes and will try to get some pics up here in the next few days. So sad to see the show coming to and end, but at least that'll cap the amount of things we have to hunt for! LOL!

Gotcha. Well I just decided on a pair of used ones for the time being (with all black arms). They're not perfect condition, but they'll do. I'll still keep my eye out for some new ones though, you never know.

Really? How? Says they are sold out. Also, the ones pictured in that link have that green side I was talking about. That's why I wasn't sure about this overseas one I saw.
