Bowcaster Build - I think I’m ready?

I took the finish down and repainted with sandable black. Here is the result of my old paper towel polish trick of the flat black. I’ve used this method on many blasters. It may not be quite shiny enough but the pebbling is gone. I may airbrush a clear coat but I’m not sure.

Much better buddy, but still not shiny enough ...adress this NOW or your OCD will kick in after you finished your build and make you disassemble it again. Don´t ask, where I got this "wisdom" from *LOL*

You can add some extra shine with an old rag

Found a few minutes to address the trigger.
1. I drilled out the holes on side greeblies to accept a screw.
2. I drilled out side holes to accept 3/16 brass tube.
3. I cut brass tube to size.
4. Test assembly of trigger arrangement. A few dabs of PC7 will hold it all in place when I’m ready.
Next to find a sponge to cut and place in to add trigger resistance. Pew pew!

I'm doing the same build slowly but Shirley walking my wat through it ...
And I have an idea for the remaining holes...and or what they might have done on the original prop because the original horton safari
what I believe it to have had is roller pins installed as keepers for the trigger assembly ...
Just my opinion and throwing it out there to see what the concences here are some pics of an original bow and the size of the roller pins based on the divots in the casting by Jerry and Jerry's research and collaboration with other RPF members for that casting i think he's spot on ...

As reference to the pictures and scaled based on the photos what I came up with is here pictured
I bought an assortment of roller pins off of Amazon for super cheap so it didn't matter for waste or wrong size just needed a gage ..
But I think I found something that will work and the has the potential for the coil wire to connect too as they would have kept it as simple as possible for the prop
As pictured the original size of the best roller pin that I have from the assortment i picked this one just a start
Also I clamped them in my vise and closed the opening to better reflect the original bow pins ..
as best as I could
still may need to cut them shorter because of the wall thickness of the cast
to just be aesthetic
Let me know what you all think mabe I'm crazy or maybe I could help
This is were I'm head at this point ..
But would love everyone's opinion for sure !!

I can confirm, that roll pins were used on the actual Horton Magnum...O.D. of about 6mm iirc

Life has been crazy busy but I found a few minutes to install a trigger spring to add tension. I used a frame hanger secured on the inside of the trigger chamber attached via a spring to the top of the plastic trigger.

pew pew.

Time to make a quick rear sling mount.
I cut a strip from some flashing. Folded in half leaving a loop. Cut to size sanded drilled and installed. It’s a bit wonky and not exactly perfect just how I like it.

Been awhile since I updated. I plunged in and drilled the hole to attach the barrel holder. I put this off long enough. Lol.

Still undecided, if I add mine w/o modifications...it´s too wide on my real Horton Magnum, but looking perfect on the modded Safari!
