Bourne Identity Red Bag contents

Here's my bag. BTW. One of my favorites. When I get a full assembly of the stuff in the bag I'll post a photo tour in "screen used".

Good night!

Beautiful bag. Sorry for basic question: i love the movie but don't understand why the bag was in the bank. Was it a trash bag? Seems fancy for a trash bag. I'm just a poor American who's never been in a fancy Swiss bank - do they typically have fancy backpacks in the wastecans?

Good question. I never thought about that but I'm interested to know as well.

It's a "burn bag"; sensitive documents were put into the bag, then they were burnt later on (not the bag, just the contents). That's why it says BRENNEN on the bag.

Found this in an article about the World Bank:

According to a March 1989 instruction, staff "should use 'burn bags' to dispose of all classified records, including drafts, one-time-use carbon paper, notes, etc. Burn bags containing classified records should be stored in locked file cabinets until they have been collected" by the security division.

Kind regards,
Indy

Is it possible to buy a replica of that red bank bag? Everytime the movie comes on, my fiancé goes crazy for that bag. He keeps talking about it, how cool it is, etc. and I'd love to be able to surprise him with it. Just HOW difficult is it to find?

It's impossible to find... but this is one of those pieces that guys keep asking me to make. I've got all the info needed (even have the right color red canvas sitting right here)... all I need is some free time!!!

Kind regards,
Indy

Thank you, Indy. I am VERY much interested and will check back from time to time to see if you've had the opportunity to make them. I appreciate your time and efforts on my behalf.

Hi everyone, does anyone have the correct size for the contact lens packs seen in the Bank box. I only ask as they seem to be hard to find and I thought I'd have a go at making a couple. Cheers

Here you guys go. I'll see if I can dig anything else up. :cool

Hey guys and girls !

I just found this forum as I am back on the hunt to completing my Bourne collection.

This bag, box, and COA from Universal above are mine that I bought shortly after the movie.

I did put it on ebay, but I am glad I kept it.

As I understand it, there were 2 bags and 2 boxes made for the movie.
One bag for indoors and one for outdoor scenes (mine is super clean so I am guessing indoors)
One box was used when being carried in from the vault to Bourne, and the second box when Bourne opens it into 2 seperate pieces which they cut for the movie. Mine opens with a hinge and is the one carried in by the handle.

Anyways, there is some info if anyone was interested.

Cheers

Great to know that you're the lucky owner of the bag and box, vwspeedster! (and welcome to the forum!)

I wasn't completely sure if the the bag was fabricated for the movie or a found item. Thanks for the update!

Nice pictures of the box and bag. VWspeedster, any chance you can give us the dimensions of the box, the stripes on it and the handle size plus any other pictures you can sort out as I'm sure someone is just itching to have a go at making one of these one way or another.
Cheers

Hey all,

I just found this board and the red bag project a few days ago, I love it! I don't know if some of you are still working on this, but I have found some more pictures of the telephone card (included as attachments). More info about the card (might be usefull when looking for this card on eBay) can be found at this site. I suggest using Google Translate because the site is in French.

About the dutch 250 gulden banknotes: those were sized 76 x 160 mm (but are no longer in use since the introduction of the Euro). Source (dutch)

Last but not least, I've listed the items in this thread (except for the money and the gun) in a PDF file, wich is attached to this post as well.

PS Adam, could you give us the images you used for the creditcards?

A note (I don't think I missed this, but if it was covered I apologize): There is also a bundle of French 500 Francs notes in there.

Pick # 160, any should do.

Coming very late to this thread but what the hell :)

The notes here under Bourne's right thumb are the back of an Australian $100 note.

I am working on the credit cards and phone card. The AmEx are coming along.

Thank you to Mark for posting the pic of the back of the Phone card. I had one but it was just an assumption as to what it might be.

Here is the back of the phone card:

Not 100%, namely the illustration, but better than nothing.

Will post pics once I have them all complete. May also try and do a French Drivers License.

Great thread and thanks to everyone for the help. Excellent cooperation here.
