Borderlands 2 Axton / Tiny Tina/ Torgue Bangstick

Working on a costume for Axton from Borderlands 2 for DragonCon. Just wore it to ComicCon even though it was only about 90% complete, because my daughter really wanted to go together as Tiny Tina.

I'm not great with documenting WIP pics, but I have some. Mostly for the Torgue Bangstick.

So here you go. Feel free to ask any questions, and I'll try to post up additional pics.

MDF, but only weighs about 8 lbs because it's mostly hollow.

Fantastic job! I've never played the game... but Tiny Tina doesn't look like someone I would mess with! Is she related to "Talking Tina" :) Question: I work with MDF and I was wondering if there were any special tricks you used to get those "fuzzy" edges smooth? I take wood glue and smear / press it smooth into the "fuzzies" and then sand smooth. Are there other more easier tricks?

Again, GREAT JOB!

Thanks! Truth be told, I really don't do anything fancy. I just use a few coats of rustoleum sandable filler primer over the bare MDF. It goes on rough, but easily sands down to a very smooth finish.

Oh man - My wife and I are going to Dragon this year and we WERE going to do Moxxi and Salvador, but she thinks we don't have time or money to make both (still going to try making my Sal though). If I see you I'll say hi.

Please do! Hoping to run into other Borderlands costumers. My buddy is working on a Bandit costume.

Awesome work, and your daughter is adorable! Going as part of a large BL2 group at D*C so hoping to get to see your work in person!

Made another shotgun for my buddy. This is the finished Drummed Skatergun. Gonna leave the painting to him, so he can feel a little pride of ownership :)

Awesome job! Do you have any more shots of the completed costumes? That Axton is dope :p
Gonna make his sentry turret next? ;)
