Boondock Saints 2, The Guns

Man, I'd love to buy these babies (I've seen your online auction that's ending this week), but unfortunately for me it's not possible to import modified guns in Italy (even though I already have a license and own a couple guns), so I hope you'll sell the compensator/extension separately in the future since I'll get a MkXIX this year...

Ps: a 1080p youtube range video of the specimens in action would be lovely in the meantime :love

I could send you just the extension but you'd have to have a machinist install it. You have to make modifications to the host barrel. We could ship just the frame (which is classified as the firearm) in one shipment to your local gun shop and the modified barrel (which would then just be classified as an accessory) to your home address. I'm not an expert on your countries laws, but I would think that would be legal.

I'll ask the customer that bought the first set to put some videos on YouTube. If / when he does I'll post links here.

Thank you for your interest

Unfortunately gun laws are a pain in the 455 here in Italy, especially for imports :angry

What would be the selling price for the barrel extension only?
Is it a fixed mount or a quick detach item?
If I couldn't even import that, would you sell the cad file to have it made here in Italy?
Thanks for your patience!

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble.. but the weapons used in the movie were not .50, or 357's... they were Magnum Research DE .44's

There are two local gun shops around my area that offer a 2 and 4 inch barrel extension for this weapon.. It is meant to improve accuracy for match/competition shooting and is not made to suppress or silence the weapon in anyway..

These were available soon after the firearm came into production from custom gun smiths.

I own a vast collection of firearms including a real DE 44 in black just like the ones in the film(minus the extension)

Well, this is a photo of one of the screen-used pistols (or so IMFDB claims):

And you can clearly see the ".357" caliber designation that Magnum Research stamps near the muzzle.

Do you have any other evidence to support your statement, other than I-own-lots-of-guns?

well I don't want to start a war here, but with those pics of supposed screen used and screen caps, the shell casings and even the bore of the guns seem to be smaller than a 44...so I'm also betting 357. A 44 just looks alot bigger on screen. Always noticed that on Magnum PI..was suppose to be a 45 ACP..but ended up actually being a 9mm..BUT still a 45acp in the Magnum universe..lol

I'm registered on Imfdb.org and sometimes I contribute to the articles, the one about the DEs in BS2 was confirmed by the official armorer of the movie set, which is registered on the website too, so no doubts about its truthfulness :behave

I'm sure we can work something out. I'm not sure exactly how the rules work as far as selling on this forum and I don't want to break any that might exist. If you would like you can send me an email (joshua@tgcoutdoors.com) and we'll discuss further what we might be able to do to help you out.

We tried to build them in a way that you could take them off if you wanted but no matter how big of a bolt or how much lock tite we used they wouldn't hold up to the pressure of the 50AE round. So we ended up having to pin them in place...so it's a fixed (permanent) mount. Part of the extension is actually inserted inside the barrel (we counterbore the barrel) to give more stability.

I guess I'm out then, unfortunately here you can own a maximun of 3 handguns, since I'll be occupying my third "slot" with a MkXIX and I wish to keep it unmodified, thanks anyway, I'll wait for the youtube clip :thumbsup

Personally, I am in the process off making replicas of those guns using airsoft guns. I used Desert Eagle 44 Magnums as a base for the guns. I'm not getting involved in any argument or anything. I am just saying what I did.
