Anyone know what kind of guns it was the brothers used in the later part of the movie? The ones they got from the arms dealer.

To me they looked like Desert Eagles but longer in the barrell, anyone know for sure?

They're Desert Eagles, yes. And the reason why they have "longer barrels" is because they are silencers that appear to be purposefully designed for the Desert Eagles. The reason why I know these are silencers, while I haven't seen BSII, is because in the first film, the boys used silencers on their guns for most of the first film (except for the scene firefight scene after taking out the "sick f%#k" that Rocco tells the boys about, the one who takes out a whole family like he was ordering a pizza? Of course, their guns didn't have silencers on them during that scene because it was after they took out the trash and wasn't expecting the ambush).

Of course, I could be wrong.

I believe you are. :lol

There's a pic on IMDB that shows the guns. They are desert eagles, and they do have some kind of barrel attachment but definitely not suppressors. Whatever they slapped on the end really doesn't look like anything functional, at least, to me.

Magnum Research offered in the 90's and I think early 2000's a factory & aftermarket compensator setup for the Desert Eagles. It's been long unavailable and I doubt they scrounged that setup for the movie.

More than likely its a custom setup. I can't find an official website for Charles Taylor who is listed as the movie's armorer.

You might try and contact this guy on youtube.

Looks like he's gotten someone to do a custom compensator. My guess is they started with one of the 10 inch long/extended barrels and cut it down/threaded it for the compensator. Then its just a matter of making the compensator and doing all the profiling/blending to the frame/slide.

Yea those are compensators not silencers, firing a .50 pistol akimbo you'd have to have something to help otherwise I doubt anyone short of the Terminator could hit anything. :lol

I wouldn't know as they didn't show the damn movie here in Tulsa!!! :cry

Here's the biggest pic I could find:

It starts in St Louis, Mo this weekend, but not just across the river on the Illinois side..... I think its just a slow roll out to the various markets, so just keep checking with your local theaters. I don't want to go trekking over there due to the holiday shopping traffic, but looks like I'm going to have to just to catch All Saints Day.

my lord . .what has happened to Young indy? Did he get stung by a bee?

I'm stuck in rural land, and will have to wait for video for this one.

It played briefly at a theatre I frequent, got to see it. It's awesome!! If you get the chance, go, don't even think about it, just go!

If you liked the first one, this new one will make you happy. I might almost go so far as to say it's better than the first one... but then again, the first is a cult classic. This movie has everything you want from a Boondock Saint movie, action, colorful language, drama, comedy, and the new sidekick is hilarious! A good stand-in for Roco.

Oh and a guy gets his teeth knocked out with a salami! :lol

As to the guns, I think it's pretty much been covered already, Desert Eagles with silencers.

It's clear that its just put on there because long guns = cool. (see; equilibrium, hitman)

If they we're being practical they'd use something like a Beretta 92 or maybe 1911's for thier larger mag size and reliability. They still work just as good, and don't run out after 7 rounds unlike the DEagles. Even if you akimbo them thats only 14 combined. One 92 mag can hold 20 rounds, that's 40 combined.

THIS above...

While I liked the BDS 2, I didn't feel the same, simple, fresh, raw, deeper feelings I got from the first movie. Seemed like someone else mentioned that Duffy tried to hard. The guns questioned about in this thread are very over the top, and so much so it takes the realistic (if there is such a thing) element out, and tries to add sci-fi/exotic equipment that frankly doesn't exist. That works out better with Equilibrium, Judge Dredd, Blade Runner, etc..

I am still stuck with the simple but very real Berettas they used in the first movie. Not trying to hijack the thread, but just reviving what started it all...

Well, not too Sci-Fi in my opinion, but i agree.
These Desert Eagles are what i would expected to be used by someone like mister Frank Castle.
Sure these guns would fit nicely in Punisher's arsenal.

(They look like Robocop's Auto 9 too.)

In Boondock Saints, they look hyperbolic, but anyway, a Desert Eagle with this compensator can be made in real i believe. It's just so unpractical to use.

Berettas where far better. 15 rounds per magazine, way lighter, and with threaded barrels to use the silencers. A Desert Eagle is too bulky, too heavy and too noisy for the "job". :rolleyes

I couldn't find a replica of the Desert Eagles from the second movie so I made some.

The guns are real (50AE instead of 357 used in the movie - if I'm getting a Desert Eagle it's going to be 50AE) but the silencers are fake.

Used aluminum for the extensions so it's not too heavy and after anodizing it matches the pistols perfectly. Even added the flutes to the pistol barrels to match the movie. I'm working on the cutouts for the Pelican case now.

Now THAT is cool. I love seeing functional props and a real working firearms is... about as functional as you can get IMO.

I'd love to see more pics if you have them. :love
